This years Epic Summer trip

I am amazed you don't hole your seat cover If that's all you use to hold the bike down.

I did on the last one. When I first got the new rack I over tightened it and it was too far up the seat. Leather got a bit wrinkled and it caused a tear in the seat. Two small tears in the end. I've since moved the clamp a bit further towards the end (Flat bit) of the seat and it shouldn't happen again. You also don't need to ratchet it down as far as I did the first time I did it. There is a ratchet in the front wheel as well so its not going anywhere. The old rack I think was better as it had a wider clamp.

For my own peace of mind I need more but it's not as if you're a stranger to carrying a scoot on the back.

Everyone said that but this is the forth bike that's been carried like that over nearly two decades and about a million miles and it's not fallen off yet. 😵‍💫

Its got nowhere to go really. It can't go backwards or forwards as the seat clamp won't let it and it can't move left or right because of the front wheel clamp and stopper. Good design by Armitage really. I've seen trailers and racks with straps on like a spiders web. Bollocks to that in the pissing rain. 🤣

Funny old morning. Woke up full of cold or some kind of Covid Ebola I bet. I sold six laptops the other day to one of my old clients so the morning has been spent remotely configuring them. My face feels like its going to explode. :( I don't do much "Work" work these days but its always kind of cool doing a bit of business and making a few quid from the van. :D

A few more pics from today and yesterday. Some from Michelles camera and some from mine. From Bantham beach overlooking Burgh island all the way round to Thurleston beach and round towards Bolberry Down not too far from Salcombe.

Been out on my own this afternoon on the bike. Im now looking at the forecast and wondering if ill get to the 600 miles for the first service a week on Friday. :D

I see I've not done an update for a few days :D

All good here despite storm Amy. We did however move 2 miles to a CL with hookup as the forecast looked grim. It really was awful yesterday but today despite the gale force winds there has actually been a fair bit of sunshine mixed with biblical horizontal rain. :D I think the new solar system which had coped well for six days here would have lasted. Maybe.

Rough seas today but we have been out on the bike and Michelle walked 5.5 miles along the cliffs from Bantham near Burgh Island to Hope cove. Bike was fun in the wind. :D

We will stay here until Monday I would think then not sure if we will go back to the South Milton CL which is handier for the coastal walks or naff off to Cornwall for a few days until the bike service Friday in Plymouth before we head up to Woolacombe.

Van needs a wash, do it while it's raining.

Live report from Salcombe Music festival. Well I say "from", I've decided until I figure out what kind of COVID Ebola I have thrusting myself into a throng of drunken festival goers would not be the right thing to do so we are sat at the Harbour listening. All sounds a bit too Country to me so far. 😁 Actually I dunno where Michelle has gone. Probably ran off with Captain Birdseye

I was right though. Lovely down here. Sheltered.

Few new pics. Batson creek at hight tide and Salcombe Harbour.
