Love Waze for the fast updates of traffic jams accidents mobile speed camera locations etc, what I don't like is the small actual speed indicator, it's so small I can't see it, so I use Google maps as the speed thingy is a lot bigger, my van is a ducato where it's hard to see the Speedo,

What I don't understand is why they don't put speed limit signs up along the road side, it may also help to have smaller repeater signs to remind you, but that's just my opinion.

Better to use white markings on the road, some roads here now have this as folk complained about to much street furniture to distract you.
They have also put a red band across the road as you enter a slower speed limit, they should do a green one as you leave.
Recon I've done some 3.5 million miles plus Trev, sound ludicrous I know, but when your tramping it just adds up.
Been done for speeding hundreds of times, but there a difference between a Moroccan cop nick, or a back in the day Latvian pull for a bung. 3 real points is all.

I got nabed by speed van here last year on antrim coast road going into cushendall where i was in a 60 zone and as i rounded a left corner the van was sitting on sea side parking spot, i dropped my speed to just under 40 to make sure no problem, then as i passed the van the wife said there is a 30 sign hiding in the hedge on left, so 80 bucks down as i was 1 mph under automatich 3 pen points but had to do the course which was over 2 hrs long in local hotel/pub, rob would have been in his elephant there.

Cost and not needed. If there is street lighting then the speed limit is assumed to be a maximum of 30MPH, if a different speed limit applies repeater signs are provided. If there is no street lighting then the limit is assumed to be 60MPH, if a different speed limit applies repeater signs are required. Different rules apply to motorways and dual carriageways and Wales.

Many roads here have street lights but speed is 40mph, so the 30 bit is not always in force, i pointed this out to the chaps running the speed awarness course.

Correct, oneil rd to shore rd has no signs except one at the top when you enter, no repeaters, one toundabout and last section is 30mph as a sign entering the r about, folk then hit 40 on second part and get nailed, they forget that the 30 from roundabout continues for second half, i think it should be marked on the road.
I've given up on my old sat navs which were hopelessly out of date in some places and now rely on Google Maps. It works great on my older phone (Samsung A12 using EE) through the radio screen in the van, but my newer A15 (O2) isn't so good - the voice directions carry on OK but the map freezes for minutes at a time and then suddenly jumps to where you are now which can be confusing. I assume it's because the O2 network isn't as good as EE?
