12/24v roof top AC

Hmm, some massaging of the figures going on there.
10000btu is very nearly 3Kw.
Their figures don't stack up.

Their figures are about right for the output vs input for invertor a/c, maybe a tad optimistic.

No Idea mate, way above my pay grade, maybe comment in the video.
Nah, the video is sponsored and concentrates on promotion rather than information. It reminds me of those stupid ceramic heater adverts on social media that claim to heat a room using little power because the unit is "super efficient" it's a load of crap.
10000btu ....you'd need 70mm cable to supply the 300A to the unit if that figure was genuine.
Using 12v battery power for heating a MH simply isn't on. Cooling is naturally less effective and efficient than heating so powering cooling from batteries in a MH will be even harder.
Ultimately the laws of physics prevent you from consuming little and getting a lot, you can't defy the laws of physics, it's impossible to get summat for nowt.
Will it cool? Yep.
How much? Not a lot.

Are there any AC units , running off batteries , that would do the job ?

Hey guys 😊,
I have to say Motorhome/Caravan AC units in my experience are Loud & Power Hungry.
It’s like parking next to a refrigerator Van or Lorry.

Split/umbilical units aren't bad.....

All in one types (like old style through wall types) and portables can be horrendous though...
Compressor/fan noise all blown into the living space.

TBH If someone pulls in for the night next to where I’m parked, (And it’s ALWAYS next to where I’m parked 🙄) with one running I don’t mind so much,

I just start my Generator 🤷🏻‍♂️👍😊

(Oh come on it’s been a while since we’ve had a dig at Generators)
Worst are refrigerated trailers with a fridge pack where the diesel engine powering it (used to be lister/petter) but now kubola/Kohler etc etc....

With bearings so clapped that they rattle....

Always fun when you're called to one that's, karked itself and there's a trailer full of pig carcasses gently defrosting...

No pressure then...

I keep looking at one of these https://uk.ecoflow.com/products/wave-3-portable-air-conditioner?variant=50942834671955 seems to be a better option, but as much as my finger hovers above the buy button I just aint pressed it.

Perhaps merl will be able to tell me if it will work.

My plan would be to have 2 Wave 2 add on batteries and run the piping outside via the vehicle kit (included)

At a race meeting earlier this summer a motorhome next to us had roof mounted a/c but needed to run a generator to use it, it suddenly died about 1am and wouldn't start in the morning (nowt to do with me btw)

Yep, it'll work but the question really boils down to how well will it work and for how long.
As you well know you can run a lot of stuff for a long time from batteries providing you've got the batteries in the first place and you can recharge those batteries quickly with enough panels or a mains supply. Heating is power hungry and cooling is even hungrier, I guess that cooling has a seasonal advantage in that you'd be getting better solar gain in the summer but you'd need a damn good battery bank and an even better solar bank before you could run it for.long periods. Far easier with a Genny for sure but always at risk of someone pushing a spud up the exhaust pipe😉

I know people that would pay good money for that

The a/c unit in the Adria sounds like a generator and is only mildly effective. I don't think it helps being a combined heater as well.
Wear as little as decently possible and drink cold beer works better.
