Due to circumstances (and getting a bad back), have not been away in the motorhome this year until Saturday Night!
Just the one night as went to an event at Bamburgh Castle.

But first had to check for any unbooked passengers ...🐱

😿

Getting some useful Hab Battery recharging on the drive there. Combination of B2B and Solar ...

The weekend event was put on by 'VERA' as a bit of a D-Day commemoration. One part of the display.

Not the greatest weather this weekend. Bit better on the Sunday than the Saturday.

Booked an overnight space at the Links Road Car Park next to the castle. Cost £12 for an overnight space in a car park which I thought was kind of ok as it was very convenient for the Castle

And saved having to move to find somewhere else and then return with possibly no spaces available.
The spaces are pretty compact as can be seen from this photo

They are plenty long enough (a big 9M A-Class parked in one and was within the space length). Bit too narrow though. Overnight parking is only for every other space though so you have around 3M gap between each van at night, so at least better than just stopping in a parking space in a busy car park overnight.

I don't know if I just got 'lucky' with the date or if it is a regular Saturday Night thing at the car park, but ended up with around 30 sets of dickhead boy racer types tearing around the carpark until around 11PM. One particularly impressive individual was constantly riding up and down in his badly tuned moped, resplendant with L plates to show off boastfully his level of expertise.

I don't think I will be booking another Saturday Night at that Carpark! Wouldn't bother for free let alone another £12 to get that :(
We're probably going back to Bamburgh Castle next Saturday for a Jousting event, but almost certainly in the car and not overnighting.

And hit a nice round 117,000 mile mark on the van when reentering Scotland on Sunday

I think I'd tell Northumberland Council (I believe they run the parking there). If you are paying for a space - or even if you are not, but more so if you are - I think you should be entitled not to be harassed.
I will be. I was very unimpressed.
Not sure what time it was (in bed at the time) but there was an incredibly heavy rain Saturday night - by far the heaviest of the year, but sadly it was after the gang of idiots had left I think. I would have so loved for the Moped Muppet to have got drenched :D

Precisely the behaviour that stopped us ever going back to Hawick, phoned the Police whilst it was happening but no response.

Spoke to the guy cleaning the toilets the following morning who said it had been like that for a while but nothing has been done about them.

was that the car park over the road from Morrisons?

Oh ... one other thing I meant to mention but forgot .... If you do stay at the car park, there is a restriction on using the outside space, and there is not a lot in the area, so chances are you stay inside and watch TV or Youtube or whatever?
TV Reception is not very good. I have a pretty decent directional aeriel and despite the booster showing green and the signal strength 100% and a decent signal quality, wasn't able to watch any channels without picture breaking up. The mobile signal was poor and 4G dropping off - both for O2 and EE.
So those who rely on Terrestrial TV or Streaming services for entertainment will likely get disappointed :( Break out the old shiny discs again (DVDs ;) ) maybe? I switched to using the Snipe Satellite and watched TV that way (y)
And if DVDs or Satellite are not an option, you could always talk to anyone who is with you! 🤡

Bamburgh is a pretty location, castle is impressive and quite interesting to look around inside and out.

The beach is also nice. There's a handful of places to eat and drink in the village, but apart from that - at least for me - it's a case of been there, seen it, not bothered if I never go back.

Unless, as in this case, there's an interesting event on, in which case it's a certainly a bit of bugha if the only place you have available locally to park is an unsatisfactory, paid for, boy-racer infested location. 🤷‍♀️ 🫤

The system of using entry/exit barriers for parking fees as used in Roodee Car Park in Chester is a good solution in my experience, Whilst the doughnut skidding driving Miscreants are happy to spend on petrol, parking fees are a deterrent.
