My van is playing up, but might not be able to get the problem sorted and fixed before it's time for me to set off to get to Thurso to catch the ferry for the Orkney meet

Wing and a prayer, keep your fingers crossed for me, but pitch 31 may become vacant....

Also, don't know if it would be possible to transfer the ferry tickets(?), but will look into it if anyone could use them? Sailing was booked for 13:15 on Monday 16th June (2 people, van less than 6 metres) as was going to wild camp on Orkney for a couple of nights before pitching up for the pre-booked 6 night meet starting Wednesday 18th.

Crossing message, Marie, but did you post about the North of England Horse Fair a few weeks back? We left Barnoldswick on Tuesday morning, and as we turned onto the A65, we joined a huge queue; took us nearly 1. hours to reach the M6 North island, because, at the head of the queue were 2 horse powered traditional 'gypsy caravans', each pulled by a single horse at a stately [lack of] pace ... Lost the will to live several times on that joyous journey ...

No, I didn’t.

… but I’d choose being stuck behind horse drawns any day over 14 miles of stop/start nose-to-tail artics chugging out fumes like we were 7 years ago just north of London…

Not overly bothered about the ferry refund, Jeff, and I haven't contacted them yet - I'm keeping my fingers and everything crossed we can still get van sorted in time to make the meet

Reading some of the other threads here and on motorhomer it looks like a few other folk are having various van problems just now!
