According to the latest review on Tripadvisor the Navigation has closed - anybody else heard this?

It would be a great shame, fantastic pub and Roger and Jan are old friends to many on here. :(

It's on the CAMRA website as well;

You can still stay overnight for £5 per night, it won’t be the same though without the pub open, hopefully someone will take it over soon

It won't be the same without Roger and Jan though Richard.

I had to laugh reading the reviews tonight, loads of people going on about the obnoxious, rude landlord and yes he could come across that way. But you have to know how to take his dry, Londoner humour. I got on really well with them both despite him being a Chelsea fan.

I nearly wet myself when one reviewer wrote that Roger was rude about their west country accents and called her husband a Sheep sh**ger! I can just imagine him saying it! 😁

Great shame as it was,one of our fave local pub stops .....

Always loved having some banter with Roger ....
Could be taken as a bit abrasive BUT once you were accepted as a 'Regular' you knew it was well meant ....

Big loss to the boating community too
And my local when I first lived afloat years back

There were some really friendly locals in there, as you say once accepted.

Lisa was a great barmaid too.

Great shame, we spent many happy hours there Rob mostly into the early morning. The meets were great but we took all the parking spots up in the car park. The local's who did not use the pub but used the car park complained. From then on Roger and Jan have been fighting a loosing battle to keep open. He made more in a weekend from our meets than a full year from local trade. R I P the great Nav.
.... Tom ....

We had some great meets and some fantastic nights one of the funniest was when you picked up that stray dog on the motorway and it almost destroyed your van 🤣🤣

I can remember Tom Stonedaddy winning play your cards right at a meet there ,he left his winnings behind the bar for us wild campers to have a drink ,
I remember that.

I also remember you trying to get the drinks in with a forged note! 🤣 We all thought Roger was just messing about when he said it was a forgery but turned out it really was.

We had some good meets there. First time I went there was snow.
