We have just sold a 2006 Chausson Allegro through AutoTrader. Only two enquiries, both viewed it and the second bought it. We put it on for 4 weeks and sold it in 2. We also had a big 'For Sale' on it, got some enquiries but no viewers. Also put it on Nextdoor got a couple of enquiries but no viewers.
Facebook Marketplace is becoming the go-to place. Never joined FB and read somewhere that you need a bit of FB history before you can use Marketplace.
Photos of the van on location help to show the van as it is used. Telling a story of how you have used and enjoyed it also makes it stand out from the usual list of stuff.
I agree. Most of my photos of old Hank the Tank were taken in nice places, wild camping (selling the dream). The other thing I did was list all the bad points as well as the good and was 100% totally honest. I knew the gearbox was ropey for example and that it started like a bag of spanners in the cold so I listed it. People will only discover it once they drive all the way to see it but that wasn't my reason. Honesty is just a big thing for me. I would have been well pissed off if the first van I had bought had turned out to have a list of stuff wrong with it.
