Hi, I was blessed a few months ago with an iPhone by one of our members, but never having had anything other than a basic mobile telephone I was completely unable to drive it and gave it back with an apology for being thick. I have been assured that a non apple would be easier for a complete numpty to use and enable me to connect to the Garmin link for my satnaggy thing in the 'van (maybe even the Lidl discount thing too)

Any 4g mobile and try istalling magic earth which does not rerquire data, you can buy a dash mount for a few bucks, dead easy to use.

Thanks Trev, but I have a Garmin satnav unit already it's just the facility to get constant traffic updates when wandering in the tin tent

I'm not sure an Android phone will be noticeably 'easier', it will be slightly different.

Avalable on magic earth in settings.
Usfull if out and about in ones pocket, lost in strange town springs to mind, then fix it into dash clip when driving.

I hadn't thought of that, I use a mifi unit in the van

Hi, no we didn't but I checked out the telephone on the web and seeing as yours is practically new I presumed that it would be priced realistically (maybe wrongly, if so I apologise)
