Sounds like grey water. Try some thetford tank freshener.

as above you need your tank an pipes cleaning out

When traveling keep a small amount of water in the sinks AND loo. That will act as a plug to stop bad odours backing up the pipes AND loo

Also is it possible you were smelling your cat. converta?

You guys are the real deal lots of food for thought:D:D i will try all the above and report back, & no have no dog or pig under the bonet:raofl::raofl::raofl::raofl: at least i dont think so, i learnt somthing else today, i have a cat on my exhaust never knew this:eek::eek: you guys rock,

You say you have just had a new exhaust fitted, well sounds to me like the fitters have had hold of the exhaust /cat with greasy hands etc and it is just burning off ,just a thought.

Cat on the exhaust? well there's your answer then, :lol-053:

smell

If the smell is from outside it could be a brake binding.Either raise wheels and spin to check or feel if 1 is hotter than the other on the same axle.
The rear handbrake shoes are prone to rusting. They are a top hat arrangement inside the rear discs.
Good luck

Ahhhhh never thought of that,,, i will check that out cheers Rickboy,, your a star,

Barrington B,

Check for oil

Ahhhhh never thought of that,,, i will check that out cheers Rickboy,, your a star,

Barrington B,

I would also have a look under the gearbox/clutch area for any signs of oil.The gearbox may have been drained and refilled when the clutch was done,on refilling it is possible some oil may have spilled over the outer casing or if overfilled it will come out of the breather on top of the gearbox which is not easy to see from under the bonnet unless the air cleaner box is removed.A mirror and torch may save removing any parts.

I would agree that most bad egg smells come from the grey water waste tank. If so, get something to clean it out. Someone on this site suggested biological washing powder/liquid mixed in warm water down all you sink/shower wastes, then leave for a day, drive around for bit before draining off.

Otherwise the clutch shouldn't smell. If you have JUST had it done check back with the garage in case the mechanic left something under the bonnet (they do like to play tricks on people, especially if you upset anyone!) I have heard of foodstuff being left by the air intake, accidentally or otherwise). Catalytic converter smells of eggs but only when driving along behind someone accelerating.

Please report back, we'd love to know what it is!

Cheers Fairytooth i will try and sort the smell issue out and i will report back with my findings,,

Barrington B,

I had a similar smell it turned out to be the battery under my seat? maybe worth a look and check it stunk of eggs/sulphur
