At least Councillor Michelle Morris admitted that the majority of visiting Motorhomers were "perfect guests" Bill, which I suppose is something.

Yes to be fare here it seems like a balanced approach without the usual anti Motorhome propaganda we have seen elsewhere. But sadly yet again some amongst us do us so much harm with their selfish stupid and idiotic behaviour, it really p—-es me off. Sometimes I wonder are these people just stupid, or as I suspect selfish, or maybe both. My recent outburst considering calling the police on Arran was due to my utter frustration. Personally I would rather see a system in place allowing one or two nights stay for a fee. Anyone who stays any longer should be very heavily fined, it seems that the only way to get the message across to these idiots is through their pockets. All the council are doing here is moving them on elsewhere. Every council in the U.K. should take a leaf out of Fife Coastal Trusts approach.

Much of it stems from those who stay too long. A night or two would seem acceptable but many stay for extended periods and this inevitably causes annoyance to local residents. Lockdown seemed to make the problem more common. Perhaps the solution rather than an outright restriction would be a maximum stay time, enforced with fines.

It would be such a shame if the Leisure Centre is restricted or closed to M/Homers because of the selfishness of a few

Whereabouts do you mean, Steve? Is it anywhere near this Google maps pic of the Hymer parked up (which doesn't appear to be blocking anything and looks like plenty of space elsewhere in that particular car park).

Not knowing the area at all I haven't a clue where the "old outdoor swimming pool" is located...?

Sounds like they are regulars then? Do you know if anyone is bothered about it/complained to council?

If they're actually restricting pedestrian and vehicle access and it's a problem, then maybe quietly point it out them first yourself. If they turn out to be unco-operative(!) report the obstruction to the council's traffic/parking dept. etc.? Or do the latter anyway. Might prevent a potential total ban on moho parking in future if it gets nipped in the bud? Just a suggestion...

6pm seems an early cutoff time, those who might want an evening visit will be stopped.
On the plus side, all those who are registered as 'van with windows' may well be unaffected.

Burntisland is a cracking carpark, and I don’t see it being closed to us. Worse things happen in other car parks in Fife, but whilst Robbie Blythe is running things it won’t change. But I don’t think Burntisland is run by the coastal trust. Anytime I have been there it’s almost empty, and I can take around 80-100 cars.

I don't know the area Bill, or for follows would be possible?

The large aire at Avignon is a max 48hr stay and barrier controlled. If one misses the time to go slot, barrier remains closed, you are locked in and a phone call required for someone to let you out, along with a fine for staying over your time.

I do not understand why UK Clowncils cant see the wisdom to invest in a similar setups that our European neighbours have set up for camping cars?

Yes Bill I totally agree, but from my post regarding Arran and the caravan c/w awning staying in a small carpark for 10 nights, and some of the replies on here stating he was doing nothing wrong, it seems that some on here reckon there’s nothing wrong with this kind of behaviour. We have to realise that sometimes we are barely tolerated. Upsetting locals with stupid selfish behaviour leads to this kind of thing.

15 Motorhomes in the Leisure Centre Car Park today, Bill. It's looking like a M/Home Showroom! Beacon Leisure Centre is operated by the Fife Sports & Leisure Trust. It's a sunny weekend, and it's a long way short of being almost empty. No car parking spaces left 15 minutes ago on the front row with a seaview over the Bay, and that's what may cause complaints/problems. There is a healthy [?] contingent of 'dotage' car drivers who park up for the view, but who don't want/or cannot get out of the car for some fresh air

If the M/Homes were restricted [or, better still, volunteered to restrict ]themselves to the middle and back rows of the Car Park, there would be 'seaview' car parking aplenty, and the M/Homers would still have their free stays for the weekend

One sunday morning a few weeks back we went that way on our way to visit family in Blackpool.

We counted 79 motorhomes parked along Inner - South - North promenade with only 2 actually paying on aire.

A couple of PVCs were leaving the Leisure Centre Car Park when we went for a pre-Rugby wander this afternoon, but the tightness of parking/lack of attention between the PVC drivers and 2 car drivers who were reversing in the PVC blind spot at the same time led to an impromptu 'who has the loudest horn?' contest. 'Twas all a wee bit tight, and the piece de resistance was two adjacent M/Homes [far lh side in photo] who had emptied their tanks onto the Car Park surface. Too much of this and action will be taken, with every justification ...

It got so bad we left and headed to Craigmead and spent a nice night on our own. I think they should charge £10 a night, and limit motorhomes to 7 units with designated bays. I will send your photos to Robbie Blythe underlining our concerns. But I don’t know if he has any jurisdiction on this car park. But I think us showing concern, is better, than the locals doing so, and it’s only time before they do.
