Broken Ducato front spring

We are at present in Barnard Castle, same has happened to us our MH is not 1 year old yet ,dealership not interested and on the phone yesterday for nearly 2 hrs .MH still under warranty .Booked in at earliest they can 31st Aug .So annoyed
Is a spring under warranty? I wouldn't be surprised if it is counted as a wear and tear consumable.
given it is a vehicle component and not motorhome related, I would also think that yoi could get it fixed at any Fiat (I presume?) van service centre or likely any garage that will use genuine parts and provide a VAT receipt (warranty work on a vehicle is not restricted to the franchise network only)

When its spring again we will bring again two little springs from amsterdam, yep change the struts and also look at the top mounts, 15 years is a long time.

Frankly at less than a year old I'd be arguing and being prepared to go down the 'not fit for purpose ' route a broken front spring .......

As @wildebus has said, this will be covered by the base vehicle warranty and you should be able to get this repaired at any Fiat Commercial dealership.

You should be able to contact Fiat direct using contact details in the base vehicle handbook.

Less than 1 year old vehicle ....

Not a 20 year old Skoda Trev ....

Failed front spring will be an easy 'Not fit for purpose'
So if you go down a pothole it the makers fault, as i said very dodgy and hard to prove, they may go 50/50 or ph a friend.

I hit a bad pothole Trev about 20 years ago, broke spring and other damage. The car was only four years old but the garage replaced both front springs, and other works. I think the total was around £1000, but I was compensated by the local council roads dept, after several months of trying. I tend to agree with you, trying to prove exactly why a one year old spring fails could be tricky.

Folks here take pictures of road holes and claim, im looking for some now. 😂

I'd be going down the "not fit for purpose" route too.

Off course there's many reasons/excuses they may come back with, pot hole, overloaded + pot hole etc, then take it from there. There's only one way to find out. Good luck (y)
Less than a year old and under 2000 miles ...

I'd be spewing frankly ....

Decent mileage/age and state of our roads then fair enough ...

BUT to have a spring break with little more than delivery mileage is frankly crap IMHO .

always worth trying of course. you never know. I had juddering brakes on my 5 year old RAV4 (warped discs) and they were replaced under extended warranty and also had the pads replace FOC at the same time, which was a surprise.

Interesting a broken spring so close to the top made the vehicle drop so much. One of my front springs broke on the car near the top and I didn't even notice! Took a while to find out it was broken while I was looking to see what was making a noise over bumps (piece of spring bouncing on suspension cup).

Disaster for some.

Had a few coils go on a G Wagen, but they are progressive so a bit prone to go with some abuse. Only changed them before next MOT, you wouldn't notice they had gone unless you checked.

Jaysus H Christ, I bet you wish you had that G Wagon now Mark?

Or have you still?
