Snow chains free

Anyone want a pair of chains. Polar p400 16mm. Collect Lancashire or Kyle of Lochalsh
 
I wonder who has the most travelled set of snow chains? I'll start with 80K kilometers (LHD van) plus only opened for practice fit.
 
Those have travelled about 120k but only used 3 times. Once when stuck on ice so that time only about 20ft drive. Other times only 1/4 hour or so

500kin 3 years. We’ll done.

500k was my average in 5 years, but then I wasn’t couriering, just driving to work (exhibitions, events etc)

I was doing about 100k a year when I had my garden furniture business Kev.

Didn't half get through some Dual Mass Flywheels on my Sprinter.

I never had a clutch or flywheel in any of mine, my last sprinter had over 922,000 miles and was still on the original clutch.
I was hoping to take it to the million miles until some scroat stole he dpf and with the age and mileage I couldn’t warrant paying the £3,000 for a new dpf so I sold it on for spares or repairs

They also nicked mine Richard and yes about £3k because the wiring loom also has to be replaced. My Sprinter was relatively new at the time though so I claimed it on the insurance.

Different driving profile Richard, one being driven long distance by a professional the other locally by a heavy footed oaf 😉

There are certainly situations where chains can help, all depends on what's under the muddy surface you are slipping on.

Few inches of mud on a hardish track or sub soil, you'll get traction. If mud or other soft surface, I guess it's 50/50, you might get traction, or you might just end up digging a deeper hole, and that can happen in a few seconds.
