Would removing the upper vent help an absorption fridge in warm weather, by increasing air flow.

Maybe. Also a cheap computer fan which runs off 12v.
My preference is to install it on the upper vent (inside) to extract. And a switch..
When travelling the airflow past the vents provides some help.
If stood why not remove both vents.

I will be installing a fan in the new van. Removed vents monitoring temperature.

Note that the vents include a mesh to keep out insects, so you might need to keep an eye out for insects getting in the works.

I installed the Titan fridge fan kit in my motorhome.
It is not a bargain option compared to an old computer fan but I think is a lot more capable with built-in temp sensor giving variable speed control in auto mode plus 4 manual speed settings. Nice bit of kit and happy I went that way instead the DIY route.

I have 2 X 120mm 12v super silent computer fans installed on the top fridge vent blowing outwards and we`ve had them running all night as well.

The fridge is coping well with the crazy temperatures down in Canterbury then 32C in Eastern France and now 29C in Luuxembourg 😎

Too cold for a fridge i think, we check ours with a laser meter.
tricky to get the balance right if you have a Fridge/Freezer driven by a single cooling source. When it is hot like this, you tend to need to compromise. My fridge would be a bit too warm if I had meat in it (I don't, only drinks), but the freezer is pretty well where I want it. (I keep frozen food in there so use it as a 3*/4* Freezer)

I might drop the freezer temp a degree or two to get the fridge lower actually.
The ideal would be to have separate controls and circuits (or individual units would be the very best, but most expensive way)

Just checked our 3 way.

Outside of door 25.3c

Fridge 5.1c

Freezer -10.6

Happy with that.

My little electric sealed fridge was on all day and solar was still charging the batts up, they will drop at night down to 12.4, but up long before i crawl out of bed in the morning to go out and look.
