Seriously getting to the point of why do we bother ?
Van life is slowly losing its appeal, for the price of a weekend away food/fuel/location we could of hopped on a plane and gone somewhere warm for a few days.

Just struggling today trying to remember the reasons why I loved it so much

I understand !
Our usage profile is much different from yours but
2020 covid.
2021 too cold in November
2022 ok/good.
2023 our return to uk may be delayed or like 2020 not possible
If 2023 is ok maybe a last big tour then sell !
Who knows....not us ! At least not today. .

I guess it depends where you tour and for how long. Our trips are generally measured in months not days or weeks and we hardly ever use proper sites. CL's, wilding or Aires etc. No other way of doing it really for that length of time.

I think you need to be retired or able to work from the van to get the most out of it.

It’s no different to anything else, there’s a time you like or even love a thing, and a time when it’s no longer for you.

what ever you decide, just be sure it’s your own choice and remember your free to change your mind when ever it suits you.

I'd do it in breath or would have when I had some to spare, but I'd be in the US so much more to see, just spread out more, need to tool up though if boondocking.

Well here are a few reminders the freedom and all the friends you have met along the way, the places that you have visited and are now nice memories and the wild festivals you have gone to and met another circle of friends and remember when things go wrong on our campers/Motorhome it does put a damper on our hobby but only for a short time so get your van fixed and get back out there. 💋💋

Get yourself over to that Europe Kev. Lots to see there, never mind the USA.
I know the camping is better but I've seen very little on the numerous travel progs the Liz forces me to watch, a few things but not a lot, you will see it different to most as you have the scoot and can get into more places, I'm not knocking Europe, I've been twice on two wheels but it's not all that.

I know your right Annie I was just struggling to see it today stuck in a field we ran out of gas, had a leak, and van wouldn’t start !
I know we will look back and laugh but right now it’s just one big money pit !
Anyway I’m sure I will see you soon .. x

Chin up! Sun"ll be around soon enough. Check the prices of those holidays abroad, prices ain't what they used to be either.!

We kinda fell out of love with it 3years ago and sold the van. 8months later we thought we wanted another van but had it a few months and used it once and sold it. We will definitely get another van but agree the glory days of wild parking are well and truly over.

You like mountains and scenery like I do though Kev and the Alps and Pyrenees make the mountains here in the UK look like Norfolk! Well thats not really fair but it is pretty spectacular.

You will laugh about it later. We sold our van last year and Ron has not been (and still isnt) well, and he did not want to do it anymore, I miss it very much and follow everyones travels as much as I can. I know we will not get another van its not fair to make someone do something they no longer enjoy and I have my cardmaking. When I think of some of our travels which when they were happening I used to think what am I doing here when probems arose. Dont give up.

We did the Pyrenees twice and I looked at an alp and figured they looked better looking at them than looking from them, a bit like living across the street looking at the nicest house than living in the nicest house and looking at a semi.

Grand Canyon has always seemed like a place to go, 250 miles long, a mile deep in places, match that, always wanted to ride a Harley through there but I think you can't anymore :( :(

You would love this. South East France. Lac st Croix and the Verdon Gorges. Gorgeous sunny warm weather. Kayak in the morning, swim then a ride round the French equivalent of the Grand Canyon in the afternoon on the bike. I remember this day well. Absolutely fabulous.

Book a holiday and you can get travel problems. The accommodation can be crap your neighbours loud. All holiday options can go wrong personally I like the freedom my own bed and my own food or the choice to go out ;)
10 years in and I would still prefer Number Thirteen Bus ;)
We have just been to Morocco hired a car and used hotels 🏨 hated it :(
Carry on camping but if it’s the end of the line make the choice and enjoy your new adventures.
🧡💚💜
Where’s that couple who parked behind us at the seven bore meet wink wink 😂😂😂
