Has anyone fitted AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) leisure batteries to their motorhome ? As always , Google seems to find good and bad reasons for fitting / not fitting them ! Our two Banner batteries (4 years old) are well and truly fcuk'd.
Many thanks to anyone wishing to advise this hesitant camper.lol

AGM need to be charged properly if they are going to last. They are not always a drop in replacement for wet lead acid batteries, though some sellers might like you to think they are. Alpha Batteries have detailed guidance here.

Thanks for the link. I’m heading off to see if my charger actually can deliver the required amount that AGM need. There’s a setting for it but as your article points out , this doesn’t necessarily mean it delivers it !

Two Platinum AGM leisure batteries ordered today and although I didn’t pay extra for express delivery , they’ll be here tomorrow yay ! Thanks for advice everyone and £21 discount with wild camping was appreciated.
We couldn’t fit those super lead carbon ones as they’re taller than our storage box can fit.

Silly question but we have an Autograph 75-2 2018 , and we’ve just replaced our two leisure batteries 30 hours ago. They came 80% charged and I’ve checked the control panel and the battery charger is still putting in 14.4v even though they’re fully charged, it just isn’t dropping to a float voltage.

Can anyone tell me where this charger is ? I assume the charger that says Solar Duel Battery Charger (that’s flashing indicating it knows they’re full already) is not responsible for this and that there’s another battery charger somewhere? Cheers 🍻 for any advice .

Slightly off-topic, but closely related. This article was from back in 2014.

(No doubt some of the cleverer techie bods in here have already discussed this elsewhere...?)

Wonder what happened to this idea?

Now superseded with salt silicon but still only working on small devices as yet, in a few years it will hit the car market, 600 mile range and 5 min charge times are bandied about.
