Thetford C224-CW

Looks similar to one we had in a previous van, worked fine but thought the cassette was a bit on the small side.

Yes to Thetford had one for several years now worked fine so far ours does not have its own water tank but flush's from main water tank which I think is a advantage saves watching level and filling a small tank

No, not just any Thetford toilet, this specific model. Manual flush and it's own holding tank.

Sorry I have no experience of that model, but I don't blame you for going with the manual flush. Electric flush is just something else to go wrong and the manual really is no effort!

But isn't 'it's own holding tank' just a cassette like any other Thetford?

Edit: sorry I presume you meant holding tank for flush water now I think about it?

Yes I'm guessing the rest is all the same, it was the manual flush I was hoping to get some feedback on.

I have a Thetford Excellence with a manual flush which is basically just a small plunge type button which you pump up and down as in the last image here;

It works just as well as any electric flush I've had but without the complications of an electric pump.

Surely a manual flush has linkages and plunger seals to go wrong too.
Have seen manual flush in port-a-loo's, amount of water was fine but felt like changing gear on a series one.

I can only go by experience.

So far I have had 3 electric flush toilets, all of which have at some point failed, in fact the one on my boat now is not working. I have had several manual flush versions, none of which have failed so I would rather stick with them.

Modern manual flush are effortless and as simple as can be.

Maybe better for big jobs then;)

I have this particular toilet in my motorhome and have had no broblems but it is less than a year old I have it plummed in to my underslung water tank with electric flush
No messing thinking about getting a spare cassette as 2 of us will fill it in 4 days aprox
