I noticed a few times this year when visiting town centres or places void of motorhomes that there’s a new trend. I spotted a few very new high end transit customs and vw vans parked right in town centres these vans had no outwardly signs that they were campers nothing but when the doors were opened they were very high end conversions not diy stuff but factory done. No widows vents nothing maybe a roof light all nearly new. No fancy decals they just looked like a plumber or electricians van. Anybody else noticed this

No nothing like that these just looked like standard vans no sign at all that it’s a camper. Think it’s a new trend to overcome parking restrictions that target campers In towns. If it doesn’t look like a camper and can fit in normal street parking rather than car parks.

I'll post what my neighbour comes back with on Monday. They are off to North West campers in Clithero tomorrow to pick up their van conversion. Had a look on their web but nothing to write about they do most of their publicising on facebook.

Aye it was a pop top. Sold it about a month ago. Had it over 8 years and sold it for 3k less than we paid for it.

Looks like the way ahead for doing it on the cheap provided you can find parking that doesn’t state no sleeping

Might have to write to the Council and check if permission is required to sleep in your own personal taxed and insured and Mot ed camper.

Our son bought a SWB T5 for 13k and sold it 18 months later for 13k, it went in a heart beat

I never got a chance to advertise mine. I mentioned I was thinking of selling and next thing I knew my cousin was up buying it. Big demand for VW campers and selling for good money.

That looks the part I like that all black look. Theres not many motors that you’ll do that with i made money at the first two motorhomes I bought make a 3k profit on my first van then 5k on second and had 3 years use out of them. But I’ve got a feeling that I’m gonna get the full rubber glove With no lubricant treatment when I come to trade or sell my current van

Our son just bought another newer model, 62 plate LWB pop top with diesel heater, nice conversion. Fingers crossed it was a good buy

Don't think you can go wrong with a T5 or T6 conversion.

Just goes to show Motorhomes/Campervans if you are savvy and pay a good price for you can have many holidays and they still dont loose money when one parts company with them.

Just as a starter for 10 and based on not much more than gut feel I'd say buy at 2yrs and sell at 7yrs. Also pvc depreciates less.

Demand may be high now,but once all this cov19 cr-p is over folks will dump them cheap to fund there drinking binges in spain once again.

There's a lot to be said for conversions that aren't DVLA classified motorcaravans now that councils are writing orders banning them.
No classification means either no ticket or more likely instant withdrawal when challenged.
Got to watch speeds though as just a van so lower limits.

Some of the more respected coachbuilts and A class hold there money very well, as well as if not better than PVC's, barring VW PVC which always hold their value.
