Good evening all, I'm on the brain picking if possible please.
Have no experience in this what so ever (as non electrical).
Close friends have a Rapido 999M (2008) from new and have never felt the need to have the thing weighed at all (rig is plated at 3880 gross).
Pack their basic of bits, full tank of diesel and fresh water with the minimal of upgrades to the standard van spec (have added about 75/100kg to the van). Has discovered that the van is a huge 240kg overweight!!!
Had a look at what is in the van at the weekend and can confirm that they are really carrying the "basic" of items, meaning that the van has bugger all payload from the factory by all accounts if not any. So means that the run rashions, with 1lt of water and never fill the diesel tank over half
.
They have looked into a company called SVtech, whom can assist in having the vehicle's rating changed, my question is has anyone had this done and any underlining issues raised in doing so? One guesses that the axle ratings have to be thoroughly checked and would have thought modifications are required (Air Suspension not included as confirmed by all that offer this service).
Any ideas
