Bolero fog lights

Can anyone tell me if it’s possible to remove the rear fog lights on a swift bolero without removing the rear corner panel? I have had a look behind the panel but the access hole is not in line with the rear of the fog light. Just changing the bulb must be a task in itself let alone trying to get a screwdriver in there to release the lens. Anyone been down this route?

Think Swift go out of their way to make the simplest job difficult. They are more concerned with the aesthetics than the practicalities. I know how much trouble I had with the rear camera. You have to unglue the grey cover that is stuck on with Sikaflex before you can adjust anything. Looking at a picture they have not made it easy. Makes you wonder if anyone in the design team ever thought the bulb may need replacing at some time. Looks like the only way to get at it is to remove the panel.

Well this is the access you get. Just enough room to get your hand in to change the bulb but not enough for a dumpy or right angled Phillips and your hand at the same time.(Hope the picture loads).

Perhaps your next step would be to ask the question on the Swift Forum but don't say anything detrimental about the brand or you will get banned. All I said was the build quality left a lot to be desired ( Bit stronger than that though )

Phone Swift and ask them to send someone round to show you how to do it or failing that a video of how to do it

Going to tackle it this weekend. Pretty sure the corner panel has got to come off, sooo fingers crossed! If I remember I will take pictures as I progress just for info and will post. My picture above......in the middle of the access hole is the reverse sensor, the fog light is up in the center of the black disc that that you can see a section of, and that’s the bit that’s difficult to get at.

Yep the corner had to come off. Bit of a pain in the rear end (no pun intended) but there was no way it could be done just through the access hole. Yes you can just about change the bulb should you need to but not the fog lens itself. No wonder the previous owner had not replaced the cracked lens.
The panel has two screws underneath, two fixed tabs that slide behind the lower side trim and a whole load of sika mastic holding it on and that’s it. All you need for the job is a Phillips screwdriver and a sharp blade.
The reflector is held to the fog lens with the large black disc trapped between the two by three phillips screws. The reflector stops it all falling in and the black disc stops it all falling out. All this just so you don’t see a screw head!! IMO, Swift really could have made this a lot simpler.

We had a Swift Bolero and noticed that when we washed the pots if you were not really careful any spots of water on the seat fabric would leave a blue mark. One day I put the dog lead down and it left a blue spiral where it had been. Then I drove off with a glass of water on a shelf. It took a dive and landed on the seat and it just turned blue.

I rang Swift about it and was told that it was nothing to do with them and I should take it up with the people who design the upholstery. I found them at a place in Long Eaton. I rang them and asked why the material was not colour fast as the blue colour in the material just runs out. They had not been told the material could get wet so hadn't bothered testing it. They also informed me that as I had told them I had spilt liquid ( water ) on the seating the guarantee was void.

I finished up fixing all the faults myself on the Bolero and had the seats recovered. I gave the bill for all the work to the Dealer just under £2000 and they refused to pay. So I took them to the Small Claims Court and they settled before it got to Court

I have just damp sponged all of the upholstery in mine and it all dried ok, not a sign of colour bleed and as far as I can tell it is the original fabric.
