About Wheelhome

Wheelhome is a pioneering UK micro-campervan manufacturer building the smallest practical campervans available — vehicles that fit in a garage and park like a car. Based in Essex since 1986, now fully electric.

The current range includes:

The Vikenze III-e — all-electric micro-campervan with one single bed and two travelling seats. Gas-free with induction hob, microwave and electric oven/grill. From £53,750.

The Vikenze III-e 4TS XL — long-wheelbase electric variant supporting up to four travelling seats plus one bed. From £56,750.

The Dashaway eCT — a towable electric camper weighing just 340kg. Two-berth configuration from £26,225 including VAT.

All models are hand-built in Brentwood, Essex with free delivery anywhere on the UK mainland.

Ownership history

Wheelhome has been hand-building compact campers in Great Britain since 1986, making it one of the UK's longest-established micro-campervan manufacturers. Based in Brentwood, Essex, the company has won multiple awards for its innovative approach to miniaturising the campervan concept.

For over three decades, Wheelhome has specialised in creating campervans that maximise interior space within the smallest possible footprint — vehicles small enough to fit in a standard garage and park in any car parking space.

In a groundbreaking move, Wheelhome has fully transitioned to electric-only models, making it one of the first campervan manufacturers globally to abandon internal combustion engines entirely. The current range is entirely gas-free, using electric cooking and heating throughout.

What Wheelhome is known for

The world's smallest practical campervans — Wheelhome has spent 35+ years perfecting the art of fitting genuine camping functionality into the smallest possible vehicle.

Fully electric pioneer — one of the first campervan manufacturers globally to transition entirely to electric vehicles and gas-free cooking/heating.

Garageable dimensions — Wheelhome campervans fit in a standard domestic garage, eliminating storage concerns that affect larger motorhomes.

Hand-built British craftsmanship — every vehicle individually crafted in Essex since 1986.

Why people choose Wheelhome

If you want the smallest possible campervan — nothing matches Wheelhome for packing camping functionality into car-sized dimensions.

If you want an electric campervan — Wheelhome's fully electric, gas-free range is pioneering in the industry.

If storage is a concern — garageable dimensions mean no need for separate motorhome storage.

If you want zero emissions camping — the fully electric, gas-free concept delivers genuine zero-emission campervanning.

What to watch out for

Very compact living space — micro dimensions necessarily limit living space for anything beyond solo or very compact couple's camping.

Electric range limitations — battery range and charging infrastructure remain practical considerations for touring.

Niche product — Wheelhome campervans suit a specific buyer profile and are not suitable for families or extended touring.

Premium pricing for size — from £53,750 for a micro-campervan may surprise buyers comparing on size alone.

Single berth on standard model — the standard Vikenze accommodates only one sleeping position.

What to check when buying a used Wheelhome

Check the electric drivetrain — battery health, range capability, charging system function.

Test all electric appliances — induction hob, microwave, oven/grill all operate from the battery/charging system.

Inspect the hand-built conversion — check all joinery, fittings and systems for Wheelhome's characteristic quality.

Verify battery capacity — check remaining battery capacity and charging cycle history if available.

Warranty advice

Wheelhome provides warranty on new builds from their Brentwood factory. The company's small-scale, personal approach ensures good customer support.

For used purchases, verify any remaining warranty directly with Wheelhome. Electric drivetrain warranty is particularly important.

Dealer warranty

When buying a used Wheelhome, look for a dealer that offers an independent warranty backed by a provider like the RAC. This means your warranty remains valid even if the dealer ceases trading. OakTree Motorhomes offer up to three years of RAC-backed warranty, covering the average ownership period.
