Evening all, we are currently heading towards Zaragoza and want to cross the Pyrenees, we are in a 7m coach built motorhome, can anyone suggest a sensible route to take that doesn’t involve squeaky bum roads please :)

The route from Oleron st Marie via the Somport tunnel and down into Jaca is fairly straightforward with good quality roads of mostly decent width.
Worth stopping at Canfranc station for a wander round with spectacular views and the amazing railway station. Nice Aire with services if you want to stay overnight.

I've definitely done the bit from Laruns up to the lake and Aire at Fabreges and I remember going over to Spain on the scooter. Dead easy wide road from memory. We only went about ten miles into Spain though but it was downhill and fine.

Cheers buddy, did you do it in the camper or all on the scooter? Thanks D

Bit of both. We drove up from the French side at Aruns I think all the way to Fabreges where there used to be an Aire overlooking the lake. Its not far from the Spanish border and we then rode up for a look over the Spanish border and beyond on the bike. The road was absolutely fine for a motorhome. You should be able to streetview it on that map link.

We just did it in our 7.5 mtr Mobilvetta - no issues at all. Bit strange driving from 30 odd degrees into some light snow though. But what a fantastic experience.

Did it over the Col du Pourtalet going to Barcelona and through the tunnel on the return leg. Both very easy but I preferred the col. Bit of snow on top in May.

Cheers

What a cracking photo. Love it. I can't wait to get back in to the big mountains proper this year. Dabbled today in Lorraine and Alsace but they are babies. :D

Where in alsace. We are there now.

We were just parked in the big car park for two nights and having a wander about the place. The parking machine was kaput so it cost nowt. Nice watching the vultures circling on the thermals.

Cheers

We were heading for Lourdes when we stopped there. After a stroll downhill and having a couple local beers we headed back up. Jan couldn't do the up hill walk back. I got the van and came back down for her. It was at that point we realised the hills in lourdes wasn't for us. It'd take more than a miracle to cure our aching joints 🙄
