re yorkshire

Hi Louise,
give us all a clue where you would like to go and see in yorkshire its quite a big place :D

we havnt got a clue, can you give us a couple of starters.we hope to leave on wednesday, and we are in no rush to get back, retired now

God's country

Not that I'm biased or anything .. but you could do worse than explore North Yorkshire. You have the choice of the beautiful purple heather covered North Yorkshire moors where there's plenty of places to wild camp, the Captain Cook trail which includes some lovely coastal villages and Whitby. Heartbeat country is here too. Then there's the Yorkshire dales inland. So many places!! If your travels include Pickering give me a shout.. any excuse to put the kettle on!!
Sue:)

thats realy nice of you.can you give us a clue where to start,as we havnt got a clue and we can keep in touch with you ,if you dont mind while we are on our travels,we would like to just keep travelling out,but as i said we dont know where to start, your help is much appreciated

Hi Louise

I suggest you download the Wildcamping Map & POI files from the appropriate forum.

You can use Google Earth to browse over 1600 spots in England, Wales and Scotland - and the POI data can be downloaded to your satnav.

Have fun!

Regards

Chris

Hi louise,

There are quite a few areas where you can wild camp, we have stayed at the Bracey Bridge layby on the A614 which is the road to Bridlington via Driffield.

If you travel South of Bridlington on the A615 there are a few laybys near Fraisthorpe where I have seen people wild camping too.

North Yorkshire is definately worth a visit. Bolton Abbey is lovely and you can park for the day (but not over night I think) by the river for about £5

I hope that helps.

x
