Yorkshire Dales

thanks belgian for letting us know about this scheme, now we have a model to show other councils and the likes!!!!;)

I have just mailed the Dales to find out if motorhomes and campers are included.......... so lets not jump the gun, after all this is "lets stop all fun" England.

This is great but for around the simular price you could stay on a CL/CS and have elsan and water etc.

Overnight parking to use local accomodation.
Will it exclude sleeping in vehicles?

Found this reply to the question of sleeping in vehicles, on another forum.

"Thank you for your inquiry I would just like to confirm that the occupation of vehicles overnight (sleeping) is not permitted. The purpose of allowing overnight parking is for those wishing to use other accommodation in the area or to leave their vehicles whilst exploring the dales for more than one day, visiting friends etc

I hope this information is of assistance".

If you stayed at Grassington ( somewhere I go near every year ) you would maybe go for a meal, have a few pints, get some shopping in the morning, or breakfast in one of the excellent cafes in the town, buy a paper.
Does that , multiplied by say 10 M/H s a week minimum in the summer season add a conciderable little fillip to the local economy.
Meal...for 2...... with a drink £30
couple of pints...each.........£10
brekkies in the morning........£10
bit of shopping...................£ 6
a paper.. The Guardian........£ 1.90

suits

:( probably pointless- it is obvious he is a gray suit, totally immersed in his little world of bureaucracy, rules and regulations, most likely has a portrait of the Great Dictator complete with mustache on his office wall and doesn't give a damn how much money is spent in Yorkshire or who might benefit because he holds his little empire on life tenure and his pension secure - so who cares about people and worse, people enjoying them selves/ This is HIS little Britain and he is secure in his imobility.
Us visitors to the mainland from more liberal parts of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland daily give thanks ye have all the little "only doing my job-my way, as I see and see fit" that we do not and will not countenance such little frustrated, uptwisted, hernia- wrenched tykes in our patch-dare any potential little hitlerite start even start to think like that and we have ways of frustrating them-instantly.
Just the sight of a gray suit over here and.....yeah-we snarl, growl and sink our teeth in deep!

It`s not so much he`s a grey suit type of guy, he`ll be controlled by the local bye-laws, for some reason Britain is consumed with the traveller, gypsy type thing, they think you are going to park up, dump a load of rubbish and leave, they don`t for some reason think paying customers/tourists will enhance local buisnesses.
As already suggested there are lots of motor homes in this country just looking for somewhere to travel to and spend their hard earned cash.

Wake up Britain there is a huge market opportunity here just waiting for you, rather than the short sighted head in the sand approach.
