Woman rescued from campervan
In Llanrwst, a woman had to be rescued after she found her campervan in 4ft (1.2m) of water at about 05:35 GMT on Sunday, according to North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
"The crew said the water was around waist height," said Bob Nellist, group manager for the fire service.
He added that the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service is experiencing a high number of calls across the area.

4ft of flood water is a hell of a lot, not something you'd want to get caught in.

To much bear or toilet cas needed emptying.,fact is must have parked on low ground, could have been a bad outcome.

I've just looked on google at the wildcamp and it is a dead give away that its a flood plain when the bowling green pavillion opposite the carpark is built on stilts.

I did the same as you and checked it out on Google maps.

It's exactly the same problem as Tewkesbury Caravan & Motorhome site where the site office and adjacent cricket club pavilion are both built on stilts.

Not a great idea to park in either when the river so obviously floods in stormy weather.

Very sorry for the loss of her van.
.

Stopped overnight at Port du Pave north of La Rochelle in August 2014. Thought it odd that there were no vehicles parked on the dock but lots parked along the road leading to it. Looking around at the marshy land twigged that there could be some water about later on. 10 o'clock at night had a walk down towards the dock which was under several feet of water. It looks a bit different now on Google Earth, but but the tides will be the same.

The article said that the river bursting banks which probably would not be factored in when parking! Even if a bit low one wouldn't expect the river to burst banks. Hope her van survives.
