when i recently got hold of a wireless reversing camera i thought should be a sinch to fit,just fit wires to reverse lights.
Anyone know of an easier way of getting to the reverse light wireing without dimantling the whole kitchen on my hymer b544?

There should be cables underneath the van which carry the current to the rear of your van. Ours had two junction boxes (one each side) into which the wires to each rear light cluster was wired.:cool::cool:

camera wiring

does the wiring go striaght into the van body ? or through the skin and then down under the floor. I would expect it to go under the floor as its easier for them to make in first place. Either way you will have to find what colour wire feeds the reverse bulb then trace it to an area of wiring that you can get at . Best of luck under the van in this cold:):)

Ahhaa yes that would be the way to do it then,i remember seeing a box under the underside,i shall take a look at that,when its dry of course!:):)

not just a revering camera but a rear view camera if you connect it to your side lights:cool:
.... any time you want to look behind you... just switch yer side light on.:)


i have same set up... maplin special:mad:... friggin thing only worked for a few weeks :mad:... bagofsheeeet:mad::mad:

Hi ABS that is a good point too wouldnt be any more difficult,i got mine free,when i went to visit the inlaws on buying the van,one of the father in laws neighbours gave us the reversing unit,he is a bit of a busybody but kind all the same:)

You been on the whiskey again its late evening ,not morning you silly old bugger:confused:
