Does anyone use ehu for the van heating when being parked up in driveway over the very cold winter months

I used tood. Gordon, not did this for a couple of year now. I open door/window, or crack skylight vent to allow MH to be aired. Also those cheap dehumidifier containers to soak up any moisture. You will be amazed when using these devices, how little moisture is captured when using venting meth

The air around us is full of moisture and those little moisture devices will keep filling until the earth is no more, a 500w fan heater will dry the wagon better as long as you vent it, i have on on a remote control timmer and can switch on from my cave when its damp days or temp drops near zero.
I do have some salt damp bags under the windsheild as it tends to wet the dash below, a towel is handy there to and can be exchange every day if needs must.

Started off with a small oil filled electric radiator but really it’s pointless I’ve a couple of the top vents opened slightly and a couple of windows on vent and I think that gives sufficient airflow to keep things dry.

True, and oil filled rads dont dry the air as well as a red hot element in a fan heater, but I do agree it is really all pointless, a couple of towels along the bottom of the screen prob works best.

Yup. Just got back indoors from doing that. I've seen the damage a blown tap can do. Micro switch replacement taps are almost as rare as hens teeth, and bl%dy expensive

Mr T, when I am heading home from a trip out, I drain everything, CW storage, drain boiler, with the water power button off at control panel, I open all taps then head home. I am hoping the journey around roundabouts, bends etc, shifts any water that may be trapped somewhere within MH water system. BTW I leave taps open so there is no vacuum holding water back, no issues during cold spells to date.

Exactly that.

Taps open and also centered so h&c sides are both open

If I dont drain the wash and loo of water I put a 500w fan heater on a timer and leave to bog door open.

Yep that’s my method though I don’t drain the fresh water tank I just turn the pump off and open the taps both H&C unless it’s going to be - temperature for a lengthy time only them will I drain the fresh water tank so far no issues but may have to rethink it with the new van doesn’t seem as well insulated as the Rapido was.

Annie, the blown tap I saw was in a Adria Twin. Even at today’s price, electricity would be cheaper than repairs.

In the old MH we used to connect to hook up and leave a small tube heater on permanently. Just enough to take the chill out of the air.

I may start doing that again.
