Hi Kevin
I have the same make and model as you and guess what? the same problem. Thinking it through, I reckon that when you raise the silver blind you are charging a spring which in turn facilitates its descent. The same probably applies to the insect screen when this is lowered. As yet I have not pulled one apart to see how they work. I will be tracking your replies.
Best regards.

Are we talking standard cassette windows- blind & flyscreen type of thing ? If so just get your WD 40 out ( with the straw on the end) & feed it right into the corners where the rollers are mounted ie down the ends - just a little bit needed. Or if you are a bit worried about getting it on the blinds, take all the screws out around the frame & the thing pulls away from the wall with the rollers attached to the frame - you can give em a good squirt that way

I have taken a standard blind apart and adjusted the spring tention (not that you have to take it apart to do that). On ours the wife accidently let it go up on its own and it then unrolled on its own accord right down. Moan moan moan by me, wish I could stop that......Anyway, took it down and got the thing apart and found a cog wheel broke. Went to the local caravan dealers and found they had spare bits on the rack. Had to glue one bit together (used Locktite all plasic glue)..................... sorted.:) I take it you have tried adjusting the tention ? regards Chris

I have had same problem in the past, and although it is fiddley we too took ours apart. Mine was on an older van so it was just a case over over use so I tightened the pre tensioner again rooled it up (a few times ..I did say it is fiddley :) but blinds working fine now :)

.

hummm.. been watching with interest...
rear van (big bugger) window blind on mine has always been a pig...
riped 2 canvases in 12 months:eek:
replaced the whole thing the first time but this time i've been quoted 90 squid for a replacement canvas, fitted.
I’ve no idea if this is a good, bad or an indifferent price, but it's a real pither if it's going to keep on happening.:(

regards;)
