hi all,

as a new member to the site, and after having a good look around i was wondering if there is anywhere on the site that explains what the whole wilding experience is please

Not paying, not having to book, leave and turn up when you like, quiet locations (sometimes), not packed 3m from the next camper, great scenery (somtimes), not subject to petty wardens or regulations, and the freedom to chose you own timetable.

good example would be, Saturday 28th January, parked up at Latrigg car park, Keswick for the night, got up at 5am, breakfast got ready and set off up Skiddaw. Top of Skiddaw in the snow for Sunrise at 8:18 AM. If we had stayed in a campsite we would of upset other campers trying to sleep when we set off , probably not be able to get out of the campsite at 6am. The freedom and locations can be great :fun: oh and no problem with campsites being full, £40 saved over the two nights on park fees too .

Enjoy, take away memories and leave no more than tyre tracks ,,,,,
