Wildcamping Spot wanted nr Bideford.

Hi All, I am going to a wedding on Lundy Island at the end of September and need an overnight stop within striking distance of Bideford,Devon for the Friday night,as the boat to Lundy sails on Saturday morning at 10am,(we have to be at the port at 8am) any suggestions welcome,cheers,Gerry.

Hi There
There are two very good rest areas on the A39. One is about midway between the motorway and Barnstable the other is just after Barnstable before you get to the Bideford junction. If you use the first one I would cross over to the one coming back towards the Motorway as it more level. We have used them on our way to North Devon and Cornwall with no problem

Hi Double Decker,
I know this post is in "Wild Camping", but if you get stuck, there is a site 10mins. passed the Bideford turning on the A39 heading west. It is on the righthand side of the road just before Bucks Cross, and is called Steart Farm. It is excellent with stunning views over Bideford Bay, and the owners and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Hope you make it and enjoy the wedding. What an amazing place to go to for a wedding. Boatman:) :)

I'll bet he did enjoy the wedding... It was 12 months ago :¬)
