Wildcamping Scotland.

Hi folks.... Just arrived back home after six weeks up in Scotland. Started in Edinburgh and meandered up the east coast, armed with Canalman's POI database on my sat nav (great info file). On up to John o Groats across the top westwards eventually dropping down to Mull for a few days before heading home.
Getting to the point... how legal are all the No Over Night Parking signs? Yes there is plenty of wildparking to be found if you look for it, but from Canalman's POI file, I would go as far to say that seventy percent of the locations had new yellow signs... No Over Night Parking or similar. With Scotland's no trespass law can anyone actually move you on?
To me it was a little off putting, arriving at what you think is going to be you place for the night and finding these signs everywhere. With hind sight I should have made a note of all these places but didn't think it was going to be such a big problem as it was. So apologies for that Mr Canalman for not doing my bit.
Hope this note, just fore warns anyone going up to Scotland that things are not quite and easy as the use to be. :sucks:

Hi to Brandyman, met you on are travels at Cullen bay.:)

Supposedly not if there's no by-law

Must admit found a few in travels, homemade one at Portencross which has disappeared, the road thru glencoe (warning of rock falls!) Largs shore and we have dingy'd them all, only obstacle is the dreaded goal posts which have now blighted Barrassie beach as well as the shores north of Ardrossan :( ,drunken thoughts turn to doing a cool hand Luke with a set of industrial pipe cutters. I have heard of a trick used years ago on chained gates where a link is cut and another padlock is put in "allegedly!"
Last place we found isn't really all that impressive (fortress security car park with a luvly 6ft surrounding wall in Kilmarnock) but it's jolly handy for stayin the night after live music n beer at Dirty Martini's/Jolly's sports bar plus morrisons is just up the road for breakfast.
Oops just addin, this is a Saturday night so we no upset any business's as they no open Sunday.

Loch Lubnaig

Hi, a few friends & I are off next weekend to Loch Lubnaig (tenting it). Just wanted any thoughts on the subject. We're looking for a spot quiet & out the way where we can have a few beers round the fire & not bother anyone. I'd appreciate any tips. thanks.

p.s. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

You'll be lucky, last year when we was there, the lochside was full of campers, fishermen, youths, they were chopping branches of trees for firewood, leaving loads of rubbish and generally making a nuisence of themselves, after speaking to some of the locals later that holiday, plans were to put a permenant ban on camping at the Loch, not sure if this has been implemented but i would check first
