Any offers regarding the definition of Wild Camping? Are you a true wild camper or just a part timer?

B) We are Full-Timers and Wild Camper's too. When in the UK we park next to our second home (being harrassed by the council to move) and one or two other places when travelling. When in France we stay on aires or in village parking areas. When in Spain we park at any suitable place we can find. Same in Holland, Germany and Portugal. When we toured the USA we spent a total of 9 days on Camp sites. Five of them paid for. The other 4 were a free offer. The rest of the time we stayed on aires, truck stops and truck parks. Plus a friends Motorhome lot.

Now that is Wild!!! Where is it and do you get there?

:D Hi Journeyman. You fly over to the USA and buy an RV. Travel across country to the State of Arizona. :-

The Painted Desert is a cross-section of coloured, badland hills stretching across most of Northern Arizona. It stretches along the Little Colorado River. One of the largest settlements in the desert is Tuba City, a town in the western part of the Navajo Nation. Its western end is near the Grand Canyon and its eastern end includes Petrified Forest National Park.

Greetings JSW, Once you have purchased the RV how do you get it back to UK, assuming I was to make such a venture?
How long is it possible (by law) to remain in the US just roaming around? I guess the length of your validated visa ?

:D Hi Journeyman. You ship it back to the UK or re-sell it. You can find all the information on how I did it and about our tour of the USA right here:-

>> Shipping an RV from the USA to the UK <<

and here:-

>> Tour Of The USA <<

 It may take a while.

B) You can go over to the USA on the 90 day visa waiver. Or you can apply to the USA Embassy in London for a 6 month visa. Which will allow you 6 months in any 12. Having said that. Other's flit in and out of Canada and Mexico backwards and forwards into the USA. ;)

Greetings again JSW,

Great links, RV's and another forum!!! Spoilt for choice now.
Whats that monster of yours do to the gallon?

:D Hi Journeyman. In the USA it was doing 6.7 to the US gallon. So 6.7 miles/gallon(US) = 8.0463645 miles/gallon(UK).

Reminds me of an old MkII Tranny we used to have. We bought it from a big rallying concern and it had been kitted out as a service barge with Rover V8, twin pumps, compressor, genny, lighting, racking etc etc etc and when towing our racecar in a hurry we could get the MPG down to as low as approx 9 MPG :(

:( In my old 1988 Coachmen Classic with a Fuel problem. I was getting as low as 4.5 mpg on Petrol. I had an LPG conversion fitted but it wasn't working at the time. I did over 1200 miles at that mpg.

B) If I get over 8mpg? I will be happy. After all. I am transporting a 3 bedroom bungalow on wheels.
