i tend to look for wild camping spots on or near the coast(must be something about the sea that draws me in)and have just started to get into sea fishing and bought some tackle.I will be looking at places to go in Scotland which would be suitable for both,or any other parts of Great Britain what do members suggest.I am also hoping to go to France so any suggestions for this will be much appreciated, many thanks.

Redpoint; to the south of Gairloch at the end of the B8056. Two car parks, two beaches and plenty of sea trout here. The best spot to overnight is the viewpoint car park further up the hill......
Tight lines!

it's a fair drive but will keep it in my POI hoping to do a bit of a tour in Scotland as far north as i can get, cheers Rubbertramp.

Loads of Aires all the way down the coast of France, especially in brittany, you don't need a licence to fish in the sea (just pick your spot on :- campingcar-infos), lugworm in abundance and razor easy to get in local supermarkets

Why not have a chat with some of the fishermen on the beach? They can show you what you would need, or may even lend or sell you some spare gear to use.

Most importantly you'll need a frying pan (hopefully!) :)

Sea fishing

Google Maps

I live close to this pier in Askam in Furness and during summer I go down at weekends and park on the pier end for the afternoon. If you get down about 4 hours before high water you can dig your bait just off the pier and fish the tide a couple of hours either side. There is a hell of a run on the tides in the Duddon estuary and you get quite a lot of weed.

This one is on the opposite side if the estuary and is also accessible with the van. With both these places it's as much about the relaxation as the possibility of catching your tea. I've had Plaice, Flounder and Bass of these spots.

Cheers

Harold

Research Brittany fishing spots before going fishing as very rocky ground but it's a great dept to visit plenty of free parking nr the sea one great aire at Portsall Brittany # 97 in aires book just a few mins walk to the sea I fished here but found many spots unsuitable around the coast

There's a popular wilding location in Old Colwyn. It seems popular with the fishermen locally.

If all else fails, there's a damm good Fish & Chip shop in the village about 1/2 mile away!!!

The Mull of Galloway has some good fishing, and you can park for £2 per adult per night.
