The Caravan is a Bailey Scorpio grafted onto a Merc Chassis cab. It looks very well done but what a waste of space between the caravan windows and the rear of the cab.

I may be wrong on the host vehicle.

Host vehicle is a Talbot Express, must admit, It looks quite tidy:rolleyes:

I saw something similar on Ebay a few months ago, ( might even be the same one! ), and the owner had fitted a 1000w generator in where the spare wheel sits with a fuel feed taken from the truck system. :D

It is the same one, I thought the guy was having a laugh when I saw the price !FOUR THOUSAND POUNDS!!! just my personal opinion but I think its a pile of ****e.

Although it might not be to everyones taste, whoever did it has made quite a tidy job of it, where it falls down is the fact that there is no access to the van part without dismounting from the cab. It looks as though the cab chassis has been mated to the caravan chassis, which is something I have thought about doing in the past, rather than just dropping the caravan onto the back of a pick up. I wonder if he has strengthened the chassis at all?

I suspect the chassis the caravan part is mounted too is as strong if not stronger than a standard caravan chassis.

I think the aerodynamics are ****ed and the view from the front window of the living accomodation may become predictable and tiresome I would like to use the word interesting ..but it sadly isnt!!!

Then again my coachbuilt has a limited forward view this time of year...afterall you can coachbuild to your hearts content but the cab on most remains a commercial cab ,draughty and totally unsympathetic to camping uses:rolleyes:

In the camper part my van mainly delivers, but in terms of heat loss, inefficiency the cab is the main culprit, I dare say a salesman advantage of an a class in his /her presentation

Channa
