White wedding from our motorhome

Although i have been a member now for just about a month i just thought i would let you know how our passion for motorhomes began. Three years ago we hired our first van to tour scotland for our 25th wedding anniversary taking our best friends with us. Unknown to them my hubby and i had arranged all through the internet to re-new our wedding vows on the Isle of Skye somewhere we had never even seen. On picking up the van we all loaded up and I actually managed to hide!!! a full length wedding gown from everyone, hubby had no idea (thought i just had a little dress!) and our friends we never even told until we landed in Scotland. ( a reply to which my girlfriend was " what...all i have is a pair of jeans and a tea-shirt) hense frantic shopping in Fort William. We stayed night before on Skye at site Sliganchan beautiful. Got ready with campers and walkers next day and traveled down to Sleet for wedding. I slipped into my dress when the two lads walked over to the church and the look on hubbys face was priceless. The weather was clear blue sky my girlfriend was rent a crowd, photographer, and bridesmaid, great when she wasn't crying. After photo's we drove van to hotel for lunch the looks and waves as we all unloaded from the van in all our wedding outfits was wonderful, lots of beeps from passing cars. After lunch we left skye i climbed out of van in dress still, to more waves and beeps to have last lot of photo's over looking bridge and then into
jeans, tops and normal gear as we headed further north on our holiday to camp wild that night and open champagne and cut cake in the middle of no where, absolutely perfect. Just as a final note i dont think a day could have been more perfect laughter, tears, sun the best company and the next day snow!!! well thats scotland for you, at least we avoided the midgies that visit.

Brilliant!

Life has it's ups and downs, any time you two have a row just tell t'other one remember THAT day and all will be a bit better.

Here's to a long and happy marriage.

Weddings Pic as requested

Am attaching the requested photo of our lovely day and just up dating you on what happened next. After our first year hiring a van we were hooked but to buy, well not in the near future so the following year we hired again with our two trusty friends and did more of Scotland. Then last year they made other arrangements so, as scotland has such a pull we decided to go back to the tent!!! bought new one from France up in 2 seconds great then month before trip as usual i am viewing all sales of the so wanted motor home and by now we did at least know what type of layout we wanted and there it was affordable anyway only an hour from home please please please can we go look ( that was me by the way to hubby who has by now been sick of looking at affordable wrecks) anyway when i phoned SOLD great never mind wasnt meant to be. Then call back they had changed mind it was left hand drive so did we still want to view? Ok said he.... but when we get there if i say NO thats it, no discussion. Off we went bank loan to what we could only afford sorted if needed, on arrival it looked good 2001 model so he was ok about that but what about the inside...... perfect everything we wanted I said nothing.... he just smiled (defeated) but you know what the best bit was in glove box postcard.......Isle of SKye bridge!!!!! this van was waiting for us. Two weeks later we picked her up night before trip, loaded, locked and checked. In between buying and collection i even managed to get (wait for it..a skillet for 50p car boot no one knew what it was) infact i just guessed from what i had read bargan of the century. So one year later we have a spanish Bennimar which we love new tent is still in packaging and we are once again planning Scotland, friends coming to this year first time in our own van.

Indeed, the groom looks to be Royal Navy......Bad enough on a ferry :D

Captain Lollilegs I am...me and boats dont match

Seriously a lovely story and it is great to see an example of someone enjoying the freedom a camper offers..

Lovely story, Skye
When you are next in Scotland we would be delighted to see you - South west of Inverness. Plenty of space and splendid scenery (although I have to admit not as dramatic as Skye) and not many midges!

Acturally he is not .....

He is MOD with the title when working on the ships L Comander so he is entitled to wear the uniform and ribbons. However now he is home more than away and not on ships at all.

Thank You ......
