Oh to be in England now that summers here,
but the streets are up in Boscombe,
and the airs not very clear,
with the diggers and the drillers
and the man wot drives the truck,
its looking bloody awful, its full of dust & muck.

The Christchurch road to Bournemouth
has barricades along the route
and you can’t get to the clifftops,
but no one gives a hoot.

So we tried our luck in Southbourne,
but its just the ruddy same,
the sewage system being done,
fibre optics down the drain. !!!

Now I’ve had enough of moaning
Its action, that’s the stuff
I’m off to foreign climes my friends

That’s where I’ll strut my stuff !!!!!

Not actually going until September, & the last time I did any stuff strutting was in the 60s, but you get the picture.

Ah Old Arthur, I believe you must be an undercover agent for the Yorkshire tourist board, you make it sound so tempting oop north.
I have to confess that on the many occasions that I have passed through its green & pleasant landscape it does look beautiful. But I have never really considered the fact that people actually live in Yorkshire – permanent like. Well well well, we live & learn.

Re: Winging Old Git!!

Hey, get up north you limey peeps,
You don't know what you're missing.:p
No traffic jams,
No southern scams,
I don't know why you're hissing!

Cheap parking fees,
Those Yorkshire teas,
You'll understand the lingo.
But if you're really desparate,
You'll also find some Bingo!:)

We love our times on Yorkshire Moors,
The heather and the sheep.
Free parking spots with peace and quiet,
You'll have a reet good sleep!

So come on guys,
You'll have some fun.
You really ought to try it,
Whitby, Scarborough, Yorkshire Moors,
I think you ought to buy it!!

I come from London actually -
Wandsworth, not the prison!
Am also going away next week -
No Whitby mate - but Brixham!!

P.S Have lived up North for 22 years now, love the coast but couldn't do it full time. All the best. We'll met again as they say!

You lot will be telling me next that Lancashire also has a permanent population, & that Blackpool does not just open from May until October.
Dezi ps Whats a limey peeps ?

Yorkshire Lass

You almost make me homesick for Yorkshire, I have lived in Scarborough and York, love them but I now live in Brittany and could not move back.

Loads of english motor caravans pass my house and I think I wonder if this is someone from the site, you would all be welcome to come in for a cup of tea, though of course not at once.

I do miss the fish and chips in Whitby and Filey, in my opinion none better.

glad to bring back memorys lass,we love scarborough and filey country park as you see:D:D whitby gets a bit bizzy for us in the summer

old arthur rules. At a very down time in my life I drove to scarborough, a place of my teenage years I was ready to die, when a very drunken guy of teenage years fell into me and told me how his girlfriend had dumped him and what was he going to do, I said how long have you known her, his answer was 2 hours. LIFE came into perpective we went to my mates place there we got very drunk, then I came back to life and have lived life to the max ever since.
If you dont understand this post, then you havent been there
