For best part of 11 yrs we,ve been using a Maxview manual dish an wouldn,t change it for anything else. Last trip the coax shorted an spiked the receiver. Thats all sorted but replacement receiver seems to be slow to respond when searching the old receiver was a maxview which showed a teardrop on screen once you located a signal it went an a picture appeared simples they dont do this model anymore anyone got any recommendations for a replacement

I have an Avtex TV in my Campervan. It is dual satellite/analogue reception and is hooked to my hand cranked Maxview dish. Travelling across Europe I have tuned in to lots of different satellites. There is a satellite strength screen which helps as you scan the skies. I have an older Avtex TV which works well and you could find one on ebay. One of the newer models is the Avtex L219DRS. Happy viewing.

Thanks for info I,m quite happy with my tv but maybe a answer to my problem. I just wondered what receivers others with manual dishs where using but looks like their not in common use anymore.

Looking to the future I reckon that satelite dishes and even tv aerials will become obsolete. Each year we are finding areas that had poor Wi-Fi have now improved , and this will only get better year by year. Eventually we will be watching tv online with all the benefits of catchup tv etc. Skye are working towards removing their dishes. I know that currently countries prevent you from watching tv from other counties online, but there are moves afoot to go the same way radio has went and stop this, allowing you to watch U.K. channels in most countries worldwide.

That you crying again witzy.
Go on go for it give us another sad :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
