heya!! am planning to do a tour of France down to Spain this summer for about 5 weeks.. am just going to book chunnel and that's it. will see how I get on.. but am heading to my parents in south east Spain.
BUT I need to buy myself a satnav.. was wondering what recommendations people have and why!
obviously needs to have Europe.. and able to turn off speed camera warning device!!!
thanks guys in advance!!!

I had a lying Garmin that was the bane of my life for years, and my brother had one too which used to send him and his caravan on frequent exciting jaunts down little roads that turned into one track lanes with hedges either side that scraped the caravan. Didn't matter what the settings were on. As soon as the caravan went on the back of the car the Garmin got nasty :)

Now we both have a Tomtom and have a good chance of getting where ever without trauma.

Someone I know goes touring Spain a couple of times a year, and he has one of the latest Tomtoms and swears by it.

I have had a couple of Navmans No problems. They are cheaper than Tom Tom

Just got the new Camper & Caravan TomTom great bit of kit, not cheap but does what it says on the box and with weight, height & length features as well as cameras and a replacement for France what more could you need ;)

Tom Tom for me every time, easy to use ,good clear maps easy to update and good deals around to be had.

Just make sure you get one that you can put a card in to be able to download the Wildcamping spots off here on to - also one that you can put in co-ordinates . You can't do that on a lot of the newer ones - or at least you couldn't last year when I bought ended up buying a Garmin.

Hi We also have one of the Caravan Club latest SatNav,s On trying to down load the POI,s it would not accept them and I have since found out that 3rd party files have to be converted to a different format.I have contacted Snooper the suppliers on this problem, but have been unable to get any reply from them.
May I ask how have you Been able to download the POI files ? Thanks Shockingdog.
