Where will I find the Leisure battery

I recently purchased a motorhome, it would seem a very old Fiat Ducato.

Its nice enough for the price I paid, but there are a number of problems, which I am fixing one at a time.

I hooked it up after the battery power died and expected that the battery would charge on hook up

I then discovered that the power Supply unit had burnt out inside many years ago, so I am currently sourcing another one of those, I was contemplating trying to fix the one I have, the rectifying circuits are simple enough.

Anyway whilst I am looking for another PSU, I realised I didn't know where the leisure battery is, every time I attempt to follow the cabling it disappears back behind the panelling and in a metal box not easily traceable with my line tracer.

So my question is can you make suggestions as to where else in the motor home I should look for the leisure battery. I am hoping there is one and that the van was not operating off the main engine battery, but nothing would surprise me

All suggestions are welcomed, no matter how daft they may seem, as I think I have looked everywhere.

Thanks Lyn

Shouldn't be too hard to find, if you have one.
First,
check in every cupboard, and under the seats for it.

Second,
to find out if you have a leisure battery, disconnect your vehicle battery and switch anything/everything on in the van that looks like it might switch on.
If nothing comes on, it could mean you have no battery or battery is dead.
You may even find a leisure battery under your bonnet of the vehicle.

Depending on the Make of the conversion it could be anywhere. On our Hymer it was under the front passenger seat, on the Swift it was under the floor in the Kitchen area with a lift up lid and in the Rapido its under the fixed bed in a compartment with lid.
If you let us know what the make of the conversion is someone may have one?

In both the vans I have had - and in most other vans I have been into - the leisure battery is under one of the seats in the cab.
