Going to York, will wild camp, can never get a booking to the caravan club site there.

Anyone know where we can go to fill up with water please we only have a small 70 litre tank so may have to visit a few times or various places.

Can I suggest that you ring the site direct? I got booked in and then my sister decided to come too-she booked for the easter weekend on good friday. Got the whole weekend.

If you are a member of the Caravan Club or the Camping & Caravan Club, you can usually use their facilities. Sometimes they ask for the full suggested fee of £6.50 but usually it is a donation in whatever charity box they may have in reception.

The only thing to watch out for, as I am discovering, is that very few UK campsites have facilities for emptying bulk black and grey water tanks

most petrol stations will let you have water, we always wild camp and have never had any problems getting fresh water. With regard to emptying your waste tank - the public toilets are fine for this.

never renewed the cc club fees due to never being able to get a booking.

the fault lies in it being open to non members.

any particular garages in york have a water tap that you know.

find a cemetry they have water or carry a short lentgh of hose with a push on connector and fill a container from the wash basins in the toilets. look in the parks for fountains(drinking). never have a problem .or just ask someone thats outside their house ,can only say no.

We always use one of the major supermarket garages when we fill up with deisel.. particularly Morrisons. Never had any probs. enjoy your wilding! :)

You could try Asda at monks cross for water,we use the park and ride to visit York, only £4.60 for 2 people all day!

will the hose pipe ban up north prevent filling with a hose at a garage?

Just had some friends visiting from Ireland they have been wilding over here for a few weeks & reckon Morrisons usually have a tap you can use.

Long way from York, but Morissons at Fort William have a tap on the end garage wall
