Bought a external silver screen, excellent bit of kit does what it should do.
MOTORHOME EXTERNAL SILVER INSULATION SCREENS - on eBay (end time 28-Nov-10 150554 GMT).
Just one draw back ,as its an offence not to display a tax disc ,where do you put it when parked say over night on the highways?? roads, lay by-s, car parks etc
Along comes Mr plod or a traffic warden ticket or even worse clamp the bugger.

We never use our external blind externally when we're wild camping in case a quick getaway is needed. I used to use them inside (using the door pockets & sun visors to keep it in place) until I bought some household foil insulating material & some suckers & made specific internals.

It's on display, you just can't see it... Same as if your screen is iced up. Think you'd need to meet a particularly pedantic plod to fall foul of that...?

I also would never use exterior screens if we were wildcamping parking on the roadside or even a layby, again for reasons of being able to get away without leaving the van if we had to. If you aren't on the road or lay by then do you need to display a tax disc? Personally I don't think so.

Hi Oddjob
I agree with other comments don’t put up a silver on the outside of Van in case you are in need to get away from some of those prates who make life bad for all. Use a curtain up or blinds only, so its quick to see to move on if required, with getting out of the van , and as already has been stated what about when its covered in snow or frost, I would not worry about Mr plod most of them have a mother, heart or a head some were to think with or from. LOL

Oddjob, dont worry about it,if some over zelouse cop came along he would do a check on your vehicle and would obtain details which would say your vehicle is taxed.
I would add that during very cold spells whilst enjoying wilding i normally use in and out door screens for extra protection from the cold.Normally during the warmer months an internal screen is all that is needed.

Always use the screen on the inside. That way you are not left with a wet screen in the van if it rains overnight

If you are thinking of a quick getaway then perhaps you should not be parked there in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep they're right Oddjob... you've not finished spending your money yet!!

We have internal and external silver screens! External when on site (and with the internals when it's really cold) and internals when stopping in carparks etc even when simply shopping for added security, also as others have said when chucking it down with rain do you want to be outside with both front doors open?
