We park ours at the front of the house half on road and half on path. Its always ready to go complete with clothes, bedding, water etc...

The freedom it gives you is unreal.

My caravanning friends dont seem to grasp the idea, with them booking sites monthes in adavnce, always wanting a bigger awnings, aqua rolls, locks, jacks..... Torture - I think back now!

Its nice to just go on the spur of the moment! just 10mile down the road if need be, are anywhere you fancy.

Craig:)

shhhhhhhh, we dont want all the caravaners clicking on to the idea that mororhoming is much better, :)

one of my friends has a caravan, he now wants a camper after seeing how easy a life we have when going away, says he loves the freedom of his caravan but hates the pain in the rear it takes to get that freedom :D , I park on the road outside our house btw, it's our daily drive

ours is parked in the yard just outside the front door on hook up all the time ready for the off.
we often go to a little cove along the coast about 10 miles away for 1 night.
would it be worth the effort with a caravan for that ?
tony

ours lives on the drive outside the house :) and I only need to fill the water tank and throw in some clothes & stuff and we're good to go....

haven't really been able to exercise the freedom so far as only had the bus for 6 weeks and had loads of jobs to do, just about ready now though :D

no drive so mine lives on the road outside my house, usually equiped to go once we've thrown clothes kids and dog in! reccord spur of the moment packing time is 4 mins and we're away, bliss!:)

Try fulltiming....It's a dream !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My first ever second-hand campervan (Nissan Vanette with Devon conversion), lives on my drive until the insurance kicks in on the 19th of June. Plan a short trip away for the weekend to try her out. She`s aquipped and ready to go. Just need to clean the water tank before we take her on the road. Spend a fair amount getting her mechanically sound, but feel it`s worth it!! I love my `Little Bean'.

At the end of the Road

Our is just about 20ft away on private land at the end of the cul de sac. Clothes and emergency food already in and booze of course - just have to put in fridge food and the dogs and we're off - absolutely fab. Hubby works til lunchtime Saturday so we can be in Scarboro or similar by mid afternoon and don't have to set off back til teatime Sunday - a holiday almost every weekend - can't get much better than that if you like the simpler pleasures in life.

Mine sits in a parking bay just to the right of the house and can be seen from the windows. as it is our 'every day' vehicle, I keep all the camping kit in the trailer in the garage, but 10 to 15 Min's and it's ready to go. depends for how long whether we take the trailer.or not. Paol.

Fulltiming sounds a dream, lol. Don`t have the finance for that. On my own I could risk it, but with a partner in tow you are responsible for their wellbeing, too. I don`t think he`d appreciate having to ruff it at times for food or finances. He is not even used to camping that much yet. - It`ll stay a nice dream for me.

Sarina.
