we top up whenever we can using public toilets , filling stations wherever we see a tap really , we find water from those source is ok when boiled for tea or coffee. we bring a supply with us from home for drinking & for the whiskey.

We use the caravan and camping club stopover points, They cost a fiver but you can use the facilities, empty waste fill up with water, wash clothes/dry clothes, and fill up with water. Now as for Aj he fills up from dirty puddles coz he has no tastebuds left from that orrible scotch stuff he drinks, it has given him a stomach with the constitution of a cow.:):)

I carry a 25 ltr container and a short hose with a selection of fittings, depending on your tank filler you can use a funnel, cut down water bottle or a 90 degree plastic drainpipe elbow to fill up.

I carry a 9 litre jerrican plus a funnel and a few 1.5 litre mineral water bottles and use 3 litres per day (excluding drinking water).

The best place I've found has to be Tesco nappy-changing rooms which have taps tall enough the refill the 1.5 litre bottles. This involves carrying the empties in disguised by a carrier bag past the security guard on the door, filling them up and walking past the same guard again hoping he doesn't notice the bag is now much heavier. It usually takes 2-3 jaunts to the nappy room with no baby in tow and probably looks rather suspicious - but us wilders have to improvise!

I carry sufficient water for about 4 days then head into a town to also restock on food supplies too - and pick up the carriers for my water activities!

Water

If all else fails why not be cheeky and ask a local to fill your container. We wouldnt mind if anyone came and asked us. Everyone uses water and it doesnt cost any more unless you are on a meter.
