The "UK Full-timers" Spend Christmas

AndyJanet and Chainsaw Charlie appear to be in layby's or similar.
Others maybe in cheap campsites
Some obviously in Meets

How do we do a poll
a) laybys
b) Meet
c) campsite
d) Abroad ?

i remenber the first christmas we spent in our bedford when we were living in it ,it was in a car park at the side of the leeds and liverpool canal at rodley leeds .what a great time we had ,pub just a few hundred yards away van all trimmed up ,we realy loved the time we spent in the van ,ok it wasent wine and roses all the time there were a few times when things dident run smoothly like when the heating packed in in the middle of winter we had to get a calor portable heater from a car boot sale that was brilliant no problems but the good times certainly outweighed the bad wouldent have missed it for anything .

As you may realise we "Hide abroad" in the winter as my Wife is Thai so we can Live there for 6 or 7 months
I would not wish to UK it in the winter
Mainly because of the daylight hours and related items/
We Full-time all UK summer and rarely use campsites
Except when we are near Maidenhead...Very Very Limited WC opportunities

Here in Thailand it is "winter" so it gets dark at 6pm ish
But it is not usually too cold and we live "under the house" and cook outside
Today Roast Chicken (Suitably stuffed) Roasted over a BBQ in a very large WOK (3hrs)
Also Roast spuds (Thai and UK) Yorkshire pud cauliflower

Yes of course

so are full timers not allowed to spend time in other peoples houses ? especially family members houses ? .....

But it does not really answer the poll
If I could do the poll again I might change it !
But .......That is extending the poll and although relevant, I suggest of less interest!
If they sleep in the house (which we have done) it is "cheating" ! ? *

AND we had to clean their saucepans !:lol-049::lol-053:

sitting in the truck on a CL site at the moment, fry up on the go to aid the recovery of last nights little drinking session turkey in the oven ready for later on.

Insurance Staying with friends

I am with Comfort/Aviva
Just be aware that if you stay overnight in a friends house..
They regard that as the vehicle being unattended and have a 48hr limit UNLESS you inform them
NOT a problem provide you inform them.. No extra cost...

I'm currently in a site, near Devizes to take advantage of EHU, no heating required today as it's quite warm in the van. Wish i was abroad in the warm like mos t years but circumstances didn't allow this year.

....anyway....how many more on here have a takeaway lol 😂 Maja

When we visited family we always slept in our van outside. Mostly sring to Autumn as we spent winter abroad. The year we didn't we were on a CL

Abroad 9-11 months a year. Prefer to wild but like to be able to get chairs out over Christmas. This year a campsite in Greece and met 5 other Brits here. Cracking company and not cliquey.
But missing family. Sister’s driveway next year methinks despite grey skies!

We are also sleeping outside a family house, not because we want to as the house is very luxurious, it’s to get a bit of peace & quiet as the gaff is full of spoilt, screaming grandkids.
