I was just thinking about some of the old hands on here that don't seem to post anymore Hillwalker, Sundance, and a few more that seem to be missing in action.:(

they have probably spread their horizons and gone for a change of scenery.

where are they?

Hi trevor, they're wild camping, of course. the nights are getting dark ,so they'll be flooding back soon!

some seem to still be active on other forums at the odd times i have a look, and some may have moved to pastures new

All Internet forums are the same. People use them for a while and then go on to other things. It is always sad that when you feel that you have built up a rapport with a person that they disappear into the ether.
I always find it a bit depressing when I look at some forums and find how they are being let to slide especially when they were the brand leader, for want of a better term.

I supose they will find there way back here, irenerobbie is right there are more folk on here as the winter nights draw in.

Surely, by the very nature of what this site is all about, ie going off for wild camping trips, there will be peaks and troughs in the forum activity? Although I believe there is some new-fangled technology called wi-fi that lets peolple access the inter-web on the move :D ?? I dunno, I only got this 2nd hand computer this year, got alot of catching up to do! By the way, was wanting to ask about your meet ups. Are they adult only, or do any of you take kids?

kids

see the northern meet at glentress organised by Lenny

We had four generations and a" bump "there. So when you join in a meet
bring them along they will be all welcome, remember they are not regimented meets, you can do your own thing ( members come in all shapes and sizes.) just like their vehicles.
welcome to the next one!

Yes there has always been peaks and troughs in the forum activity, but I am posting about old members that always come on here in beetween camping trips.

They are not adult only, the more that attend the better.

I have to admit that I,ve missed Sundown and Hillwalker of late:confused:, they were always good for a laugh and Hilly produces stunning pics of his adventures, Good to see a reapearance of Irenerobbie (Kate) however brief.
Never mind we,ve got lots of new and interesting members to keep the site alive:) and kicking so lets all drink to the future:eek::D

Looking forward to it, we do quite a few of the Home Educaters' camps/get togethers, and they sound much the same, informal and friendly :D. I quite fancied the 31st Oct meet but hubby's already booked all this year's holiday and has to work that weekend:(. Looking forward to meeting some of you wildies in the future though

I was absent without leave, but here today as I have just returned from doing a small month tour of the Old East Germany. Will post pics once I get things sorted, like unloading the MH and getting things in order at home. Perhaps the guys you folks have missed are doing exactly what we do before the cold sets in and go to hibernation for the winter. They will come back "DEAD OR ALIVE" Hee, hee.

Still around guy's
