Best time to buy is when you see what you want at a price that suits you and your circumstances. That applies to shoelaces, shares, houses or motorhomes, nobody can secondguess the market.............imho.....

Unfortunately that is not a realistic view of the camper van and motorhome scene. Many people don't fancy van life when it is wet/cold/dreary. It always looks more attractive when the sun is shining!
Now is not a bad time to buy, and will be until February or so, after that people start to think about the coming year and prices will start to creep up. As the weather improves so the price rises!

I would agree if buying from joe public but maybe not so from dealers....? we bought ours in July/August after looking for about 2 years!( from dealer ) Right van at right price. Although customer service afterwards pretty poor, but would I have got any from Joe?

I'm with Norris on this one. November, December, January is usually a good time to buy in the motorhome market. Demand is down so prices drop. House prices are similar.

For smaller purchases like Xmas presents, demand is high now, so a good time to buy at that level is in Jan, February, and March.

I think that what I meant to say was "If you can afford it buy it when you want it". We all know that there are real and perceived market fluctuations but those fluctuations are not truly predictable otherwise we would all know exactly when to buy things wouldn't we? and we don't do we?

I know we're not scientists but do you base these theories/ observations on empirical proof or your own opinion?

hi bmb1uk you can only buy what is on the market at that particular time you are buying so if you start looking now you never know you just could see the van you want and with no part x thats a good start my advice would be look a as many as possible and don't buy the first one you see and this time of the year you are in the driving seat .BE LUCKY
