Isn't it nice to know that there are still people around like this?

Rgd's Graham.

bit silly to jump into a swollen river to rescue a dog ,when the dog has a greater chance of survival unlike the man we are all dog lovers deep down but sometimes

i can't help but praise the lad, but how many times have we seen an animal in distress for a human to go to its aid ,they die and the animal gets home safe and dry!

True - but when an animal (or human) is in distress or needs help, instinct can take over and you do what's necessary to help.

He's a man i could call a friend. Some do ,others wait for somebody else

Absolute Stupidity.....sorry..

And when he gets himself in trouble others too then risk their lives to save His neck.

That said when an animal is in distress, since when has common sense prevailed.? So equally I understand.

I am pretty sure I would do summat daft to save my pal, so I cant throw any stones;)

Thankfully it worked out for all concerned.

Agreed and dogs tend to be pretty good at swimming.

I don't think this guy was being silly or stupid.
he seems to have calmly assesed the situation,
removed his shoes and trousers
(a must before entering the water for a rescue)
then lowered himself into the water
not jumped or dived
he obviously knew his stuff
well done that man!
Brilliant heart warming story!
