When do YOU start to level?

Been parked up in a field since Friday Afternoon.
I didn't notice at first but I'm on a slope! Nothing is sliding around or rolling off tables, but do get this feeling of being drawn into a corner when standing up.
Downloaded an app on the phone to tell me the slants and facing the front I am 4.8 degrees pointing downwards and 3 degees down to the right.

I'm away late afternoon today so not going to do anything about it now, but at what kind of angle do YOU bother to level up? Is 5 Degrees something typically ignored? (Even a gas fridge will still work at that angle I believe?)

PS. talking about us poorer folk without self-levelling systems and having to use ramps and the like.

Hi Ya WB,
I have to say, I very seldom bother to level up, as Normally I’m only there for a Night or maybe 2, & in that time I spend as much OFF The Nest as I do Aboard, Even Now I’m Nose down by a few degrees & have been like that for a while now..

Yeah, nose down sniffing for carrot cake! :lol-053:

Yup. I'm at a Festival and outside from around 8AM to 9PM so guess why I never noticed at first (and in bed never noticed any slope at all).
I think I would have probably tried to level if here longer and inside more.

I think you’re right...THATS the simple answer, IF a lot of time is spent aboard & it’s easy to level up, Then Absolutely. It IS undoubtedly better When level, The Shower & Sink works better don’t they.

I trip up easy enough these days even when everything's on the level anyway!

I can live with a slight slope, as long as me head's the right end of the bed ;)

We have ramps used once and left in garage since. If it slopes down at the front and/or to the right and doesn’t feel bad I leave it, if necessary I will turn round and adjust air on the back. If it feels wrong do something 👍

I never bother too much, especially if we're only staying one night. I've only recently put ramps back in the van, they help if on soft ground. I do like my head higher than my feet though.

It’s a strange one with me because I have RA if my knees hurt I level it if they don’t then I don’t bother because my bed is transverse I can sleep any way round as I don’t like the blood rushing to my head 😂

If my feet end up in the glove box or my head in the kitchen sink then I probably should have levelled up. We can sleep either way in the bed seeing as we are vertically challenged, the last thing Izzy wants is me rolling on top of her without a prior appointment!

If it is sloping too much I level up because I don't like walking around the van if it isn't level, if we just pull in somewhere for the night I don't bother

If you don't fall out of bed and your wine stays in the glass why bother ?

I have to get pretty level because of my balance problems, but definitely try to be slightly head high when sleeping. I rarely use ramps but very occassionally would have been unable to stay somewhere without them.
One other consideration that I have is that the shower drains much better if not nose down.

Level up every time, no particular reason just do it. What surprises me is the CS site I use near Penrith, all of the five hardstanding are level. I just park up and check with my level and to date have never had to use my ramps.
Numerous motorhomes park up and use levelling blocks. I would say nearly all Autocruise c class use them predominantly on the front end. Are they made with the front end low ?

Maybe they always need to drive down the road 'shakin' that ass!' :)

I try to level within 5cm side-to-side and 15cm front-to-back, using wedges if I can't get level by positioning the van. That said, I ended up 25cm nose down in St Julien, Andorra and it felt like I needed crampons to get to bed!

The best solution for not becoming an anal leveller (That sounds like some kind of perverted condition) is not to buy levelling ramps. I bought some a few years back and now the van has to be level. :mad1:

I never used to bother but our van does slope downwards and is not flat. This can of course work to your advantage or disadvantage. I am a solo leveller though and take great pride in not having the good lady running around shouting instructions, mainly because she would refuse point blank to take part in such activity. :D

I do tend to stop in one place for a while though and there is nothing worse than being in a wonky van. Well there is, lots of things but you know what I mean!
