Hi all what wheel clamp is good and easy to fit on and off thanks

Biggest problem with a lot of this kit is keys are available from all DIY Outlets.

This video is a bit old but gives you an idea whats available. Its concerned with Land Rover thefts so is relevant. Skim through the video and they try a three products. They all come off with the key from the DIY Outlet.

An issue with road wheel clamps is that motorhome wheels and tyres are big so are the limited range available for this type of vehicle. Consider weight as well. And as already suggested it’s use does indicate the vehicle may be unattended.

We use the steering wheel disklok combined with an alarm which we can arm at night when in the vehicle to cover the doors, bonnet and garage but with the internal motion detection disabled. We also have separate window alarms fitted so any attempt to open a window would be heard from a very long distance away!

If you have a swivelling drivers seat, if you swivel it and then using a padlock and chain to stop it swivelling back, that will stop anyone being able to drive away without a lot of hassle.

wheel clamp

hi I use SH5435 Stronghold versatile heavy duty triangular 14" - 16" wheel clamp plus a clutch claw and alarm and immobiliser and drivers seat locked facing wrong way

Yes as posted by "Hairydog" the DIY key will open given time.
But
1 It is a visible deterrent
2 Easy to fit

Only protects against theft of the vehicle so have an alarm as well !

With a welder and a, bit of effort the Disklok types can be made much much harder to remove...
Even with a battery grinder..

IF you're serious about not losing your vehicle It's all about layers
AND making YOUR vehicle less attractive than the next one along.

30 sec to remove, best is to have a secret cut of on fuel line, either remote or manual.
WE used to see petrol cars stopped half way down ramps in multi car parks where the tea leaves got it going only to conk out so they ran of,one chap i knew had his mk 2 mexico done three times in one day.

36 inch bolt-cutters will do for most chain up to 10mm in seconds unless it is very resistant.

There are very few things that can delay the determined professional thief who knows his business more than a few minutes. I think the highest standard of security in the 'sold secure' scheme is a 5 minute delay. Wheel clamps are good at deterring the casual thief because they are very visible and also they can the next door van more attractive to the thief so they are not useless.

Milenco Compact wheelclamp is Sold Secure Gold as is their steering wheel bar lock.
