This really makes me see red. They would be the first to moan if they were blocked in by motorhomes. You see this sort of thing at motorway service areas, that is the few who provide special caravan and motorhome parking bays.

Well the French Fishermen are happy to blockade the ports when they feel like it, may-be it time the Motorhome owner strike back!! Blockade a few carparks and high streets, but being British we all live far to busy lifes to do this sort of thing..

But there’s a thought!!!!!! Andy.....

I know thats why i took the pic it makes me so mad:mad: if we park elsewhere we will get a ticket. If you have ever been to lyme regis you will know the road in and out of that carpark its a massive hill 2nd gear all the way out i am glad i parked at the top carpark but thats only because last year i went there with nomad1 who is disabled and has to park there it was full of cars so i thought maybe it will be full again and it was.Last year in france at an aires in erquy a brit had drove in and parked his car for the day even tho behind the aires was car parking with a height barrier to stop us motorhomes parking on it.:mad:

I think the response would be that motorhomes were not using the spaces available so why can't we use them. Disabled people have the same problem. A lot of disabled people aren't in wheel-chairs nor need walking aids but they need a parking place where the door of their car can be opened wide or they need to be closer to facilities than abled people.

I wonder if a traffic warden would slap a ticket on those cars, I doubt it.

I recently posted my predicament on another motorhome forum, I parked my 6 metre van in an ordinary car-park but the cars that parked around me parked so close I couldn't get-out without taking a little paint with me. I left my phone number with the car, not to cough-up but in the hope of tearing a strip of the driver who didn't actually call me. Anyway, the motorhome jury found me guilty of irresponsible parking, it appears I shouldn't park my motorhome in a car-park and I accept the judgement though find the decision a little duplicit.

With the photo above I rest my appeal.

Richard.

Perhaps we should all follow your example.:D

Was in Anstruther in Fife last Sunday.
Coach park on sea front had no spaces left at all but there wasn't 1 coach there.
Every space was taken up by cars.

A gripe of mine is at Park and Ride schemes which have height barriers, they do have areas for over height vehicles, so how tall is a Mini then? Makes me so mad.

Good work Bertie, my immediate reaction to this pic was "why not park behind them block the lot of them in and bugger off for the day :)

strange isn't it! more and more people are getting vans/motorhomes/workvans! do they make parking areas specific for them?no! do they make spaces wider nowadays ?no! they seem to be getting smaller!we all need to shop! if a supermarket took this on board they would probably increase their takings! still not caught on in this country have we? an untappedmarket!!;)

Maybe you should have seen Huttoft Car Terrace on Easter Sunday 40-50 Motor Homes not one car

The point being? We have as much right to park whether in a truck, van, car or motorbike unless there are restrictions marked up.,,
