We've just booked a winter break ferry with seafrance - £54 return.

Norfolklines £169 return
P and O £104
Transmanche
(newhaven / dieppe)£138.

What happened to Norfolk line being cheap???
Gotta pay for pretty, new ferryboats?

Voxy.

we paid £68 return for Norfolkline a couple of weeks ago!!

We paid £94 return for our 8m van in the summer, but you can no longer change times/dates at no charge. We turned up early for the return and had to pay an extra e15 to change ferry.

We went Norfolk Line in Sept £68 return [6m] went out and returned by earlier boats no charge no problems maybe its down to the individual ? there are jobsworths everywhere.

We returned on a different ferry. For some reason we were upgraded to first class and had free drinks and snacks !!!!

We were quoted £118 to take our Hymer B654 last week, but decided to go SeaFrance which was about the same price.

Ferry Prices

Prices vary depending where you sail from and at what time. Important that you pick your time of sailing. I have booked from Dover to Calais, sail at 23:45 (one way) for £50.50 by Sea France. Booking through the Internet is always cheaper by any other form.

Not necessarily if you belong to a club or such like it's often cheaper than booking on line. I'm a member of CSMA and booking with their reference I got a return crossing Dover - Calais with Sea France for £52 Out 1800hrs In 1000hrs.

On the longer crossings the savings can be considerable.

Norfolk Line

I was looking on their web page a few days ago, and if you wanted to travel now, it was under £65 return, but later on next year, it was nearly £200. As voxol51 said, they have got to pay for their pretty new ferries. Even the chunnel looks good value against this. I also noticed that Brittany ferries's prices have dropped, after a massive hike when P&O pulled out of the western end of the channel a couple of years ago. Obviously people are doing their talking with their feet. Good for them.

Apologies!

Never saw the second page and just replied to the last question on the first page requesting assistance! D'oh!

booking on line

[booking on line is not always the best. Last week I needed to take my 4x4 and bike trailer to france, the nearest port to me is poole so its brit ferries not the best at any time, the on line cost was just under 300 pounds for a 5 day crossing, my partner rang them direct and the same ticket was priced at 140 pounds, I am sure they make the prices up. Norfolk line will be incressing their prices in line with the rest over the coming year. After all someones got to pay for their new boats, thoe they are a lot better then the old ones.

Condor

Just booked Condor from Portsmouth to Cherbourg July thru 'til August '07 for £79 return with the van and me

Regarding Norfolk Line - they say that their website is playing up - Ok. So give them a call and you will get a better price but nowhere near what you paid last year
